Any chance of getting rid of that ugly blue "skinned" config frame? (Windows 10 Home 22H2 19045.4170).

Not sure if this will work, but worth a try. I can't test it because I'm on Win11.

Open the Skin Folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock\Skin\UI and copy the "TilebarBack" and save it somewhere somewhere for safe keeping. Then edit the "TilebarBack" to something you like. You might also be able to edit the tabs if you can figure out which ones are used where. There are also a few SkinStudio files in this folder which you might be able to edit.

Yes, I can edit the images in that folder, but I'd like to keep it default in case that can produce interface anomalies etc.

Just save a default copy of that folder somewhere, maybe on another drive, before you make any edits.

Here I have changed the frame, buttons etc. to something more pleasant to my eyes.

Another thing is that the buttons are being skinned by Windowblinds and look terrible with some blinds. Here's skinned and Windows default:

The background gradient is also not looking good imho.

This is how the buttons look with most dark blinds:

And with some windowblinds, it gets close to unusable...

The custom skin in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock\Skin\UI seem to be applied only when running Windowblinds, but I had to log out for it to not be applied, but then it looks even worse, I think, especially the inactive titlebar/header...

This might have something to do with the issue I reported in Replies #39 and #41.

Is this thing still on?  B)

I am looking forward to a tabbed dock with systray icons.  That's a deal-breaker for me.

(Now I have to find (or recreate) my condom docks . . . nuts!)

- In settings it is not possible to check the box Enable Aero Peek on running tasks.  (nothing happens when i try to set a check in the box)
- In options for a Dock it is not possible to change any of the options under "Show running applications on my dock".
- In the on my dock option, there is no longer an option to show taskbar icons in a dock.

Hello,

Dev has responded on this one and apparently it will not coming back. And the option will be remove on the next update release.

Thank you,

Maybe it is just me but I'd expect the interface to change to what we have in other apps over time.-

Is there a method for selecting a specific window on a quick-launch dock when multiple windows of the same app are running?

For example: I have multiple Explorer windows open but there is only one icon displayed in the dock.  Or I have regular Chrome window and an incognito window.  There is no apparent way to select which I want from the dock.

Not sure if this was ever possible in previous version. Do you remember if it possible before?

Thank you,

I have no recollection.

Call it a feature request then.  :)

Having issues . Windows 11 Pro Version 22631.3374.

Object dock freezes from time to time and I am having issues with other programs- word and excel, not functioning from time to time. I had similar issues with old version of object dock and reluctantly uninstalled it, and forced to go to Winstep Extreme instead. When new version of Object Dock came out , immediately downloaded it...but now having similar issues with this version.

I was happy to see renewed love for Object Dock again, and gave it another try on my laptop. I really want to like this app, but there are some things that don't quite click yet. They might just be limitations with Windows itself, and not just this app.

I'm a developer and usually have 2 or 3 instances of Visual Studio running at all times. I see a single icon indicating that it is running, but I can't choose which one to select without the taskbar showing. It would be nice if it showed the icon multiple times with a small portion of the window title so I can see which one I'm selecting.

The other big issue for me (and I had this same problem with Winstep dock), was that there is no way to activate the notifications panel, or the "action center". Fortunately my laptop has buttons for some of these things, but it's a real challenge when I need to get to my wifi settings, etc. The same is true of other task-bar icons... many apps like to minimize there and I can't get to them with the taskbar hidden. I know some of this is just lazyness on my part, I could get used to the keyboard shortcuts Win-N & Win-A if I set my mind to it, but it would be nice to have visual access to it as well.

As far as bugs, It doesn't appear the "Aero previews" is working. I also thought there would be a way to add sub-docks, but maybe I'm just imagining that. Finally, the dock doesn't seem to go to the bottom edge when I have the taskbar hidden (on my dual monitor desktop).

Anyway, I hope this product has much success with less demanding users, because it looks great and runs smoothly.

I noticed we no longer have a stack docklet as of v3. Any chance of getting a new version of it for Object Dock 3? I would love to see this style of a stack docklet be added to it. This is from an old application you guys made for dell years ago and always wished that Object dock had it over the stack docklet object dock had.

I used to love ObjectDock but then it seemed like it became abandonware and then when I got the news that a new version was finally available, I immediatlely downloaded and installed but after trying it out, it seemed like it took a step backward. None of the dockets created by others work, it is slow and seems to be lacking compared to competing docks. I'm afraid I have to let this go and stick with the Chinese made MyDockFinder on Steam which works wonders including a real Finder Bar that has actual menus, user made themes and so many options but alas also missing the ability to import dockets.

I agree.  A Stackdocklet needs to be added.   Sadly he created a 64-bit version Object Dock thats not compatible with any docklet period.  Not even the Weather that is bundled with the dock.  OblectDock Plus was the last good version.  Anything newer is slow and unsupported.

ObjectDock 2.20.2  Slow.
ObjectDock 3.01 Unsupported 32-bit Docklets.
Both unusable.  Both wasted unused keys.

It's been a month since I posted and still no fix or update.  Can we get an update if and when Stack Docklet will be added and supported.   Including all the existing extensions.  That includes the ones that are even added with the install that don't even work.   As it sits, half of this software works and half does not.

I was relieved we had a 64-bit ObjectDock that worked well in Windows 11. Unfortunately, a little while after installing, I have been experiencing focus loss owing to OD3 while playing games. If I quit OD3 then I can play without interruption. This is likely to be the fact that the configuration of OD3 was taken from OD2 to maintain continuity. I will attempt to recreate my docks from scratch

StandAloneStack 2 is fortunately still working.

Only problem is the C:\Program Files folder cannot be accessed directly.
Instead a Symbolic Link has been created in the stack folder for accessing the x64 program files.

On my two-monitor system (W11 23H2 22631.3737) I have noticed the following:

1. the drag and drop feature to add a shortcut doesn't work on my second display but it works on the main display

2. I have programmed some very simple small programs via visual studio that I use on a daily basis. I haven't found a way to add their shortcuts to OD. I'm not sure but it seems it treats them like MS Store apps.
The same happens with Asus 'Armoury Crate' which I have installed from Asus but apparently it is perceived as an MS Store app.
Note that having those sitting on a dock would be the main reason to use OD so it would help immensely if there was a way to make them work.

3. I see there is a shortcut called 'Configure Objectdock' on 'Tabbed Dock'. I can't seem to find a way to add the same shortcut on 'Quicklaunch Dock'. What am I missing?

4. I feel a very slight lag when OD is running. The config window is exceptionally laggy as well. I'm using a i9 12900k with a 4070TIS so I don't think it's the hardware. Could it have to do anything with Groupy 2? (I installed both today).

Thanks
