Start11 2.0.7.1
Windows 11 Build 22631.3235

Here we go again....

1. Select Windows 10 Style or Windows App style > drag any app in the All Apps list onto anything else in the All Apps list (like a folder or another app) > the app will now be pinned to the Start11 menu even though it wasn't moved there.

Originally i tried dragging an app into a folder, thinking this dragging functionality would be for something useful like this, but instead it just pins the app to a Start11 tab even though i dragged it over a folder in All Apps. Makes no sense (and i know they can also be dragged into the tabs, but they shouldn't be pinned unless this is done).

2. After doing the above, the app that you dragged will remain highlighted, as if the mouse cursor is still hovering over it. Closing the Start11 menu will not get rid of it. You'll have to click on something in the All Apps list or restart Explorer to get rid of the highlight.

3. Another issue from doing step 1 is that if you now move your cursor up/down within the All Apps list, the highlight from that will also not disappear. So now there's two separate highlights.

4. Yet ANOTHER issue with doing step 1 is that sometimes when you're dragging an app, the app icon becomes massive while it's under your cursor being dragged. This doesn't happen all the time and with every app. But it often happens with something like the calculator app. Here's an example with another app in the process of being dragged:

All these issues happen on real hardware and within a VM.

Feel like i'm spamming this thread now lol, but i just encountered this... When the screen is turned off after it has been left idle, or sometimes when Windows wakes from sleep, the layout of pinned apps will become messed up:

These pins are meant to be aligned along one row, not bunched up vertically. I'm using a LG OLED TV, so unlike a monitor, the TV simply gets turned off completely and will need to be turned on with the TV remote. There's no 'wake from sleep' support on any TV's so you can't move the mouse/press a key and have it turn on like a monitor. When this happens Windows switches to a very low resolution as the TV is no longer detected, which always messes up File Explorer by resizing any open windows by making them tiny. I'm guessing a similar thing happens to the Start11 app pins. So it could be replicated by pressing the power button on a monitor or just unplugging it. I suppose it could potentially happen when doing something like running a game in exclusive full screen mode at very low res, especially when using a high Windows scaling setting, because the pins would no longer fit horizontally on the screen.

I can reproduce this on my system, but if you'll notice, the highlighted app turns redish-orange which indicates this action is not allowed. Just don't try to drag apps around in the All Apps list and you'll be okay.

I assumed the colour was just my orange Windows theme, but It should still be fixed though. Even by accidently dragging any app by just 1 pixel it will still cause all of those problems.

Unfortunately, 2.1.5.3 still has one drop-down menu that still scrolls. In Grouping Settings>Manual grouping by drag and drop; the first drop-down "Always group windows" etc. still scrolls when you hover over it.

In a new fresh intallation (format computer), It is not possible to put the taskbar up on the 2nd monitor

I installed an old version that had 2.03 downloaded, put the taskbar up on both monitors and then upgraded to 2.07beta

Hmmm, I can see that there are still issues there as well on Groupy...

It looks like its trying to account for it (the flashing) but fails...

I have logged it to have it looked at

Start11 2.0.7.2
Windows 11 Build 22631.3235

For the issues i reported:

Quoting sdrohan, reply 1

Resolved a small square paint issue on the first tab when active and using transparency in the tab

This has been partially fixed in 2.0.7.2. Literally just 2 pixels remain and they're very faint (Windows scaling set to 175%).

Quoting sdrohan, reply 1

Resolved clicking very edge of start button on Win11 sometimes not opening Start11 menu

Resolved VMWare Player/ VMware workstation interfering with opening of Start11 menu on Win11 sometimes

Both issues are fixed :)

And typing "gpedit" will now find Group Policy Editor
, but typing "uac" still doesn't find User Account Control. The default Windows 10/11 Start will find it.

Lastly, this isn't a bug just more of a preference, but when using the Enhanced Taskbar + auto-hide and right clicking on any open window or pinned app in the Taskbar, the Taskbar will disappear if the mouse is not over it. So moving the cursor upwards over the menu makes the Taskbar disappear. Windows has never worked this way, it will always keep the Taskbar visible while the right click menu is open. Can you make Start11 work the same way?

I second this, this needs to be improved upon.

Are they pinned to the taskbar and is this new in v2.07?

Also did they all change at the same time?

And I am assuming you are using enhanced taskbar in Start11 just with it set to always combine?

使用start11的增强任务栏功能就无法拖拽文件到任务栏,就是无法把文件或文本通过任务栏拖拽到另一个窗口,希望下个版本可以优化一下

With the enhanced taskbar function of Start11, you cannot drag the file to the taskbar, that is, the file or text cannot be dragged to another window through the taskbar. I hope the next version can be optimized.

Start11 2.0.7.3
Windows 11 Build 22631.3235

Resolved dragging items on ‘all apps’ list causing accidental temporary pins

Dragging all apps list items no longer leaves highlight sometimes

Resolved blank line on the screen when maximized and reserving screen space with autohide taskbar

Dragging ‘all apps’ list items no longer shows an enlarged icon in error sometimes.

I can confirm that all these issues i reported are now fixed!

And here's some problems with the Enhanced Taskbar (not specific to 2.0.7.3):

1. Sometimes the Taskbar will become lighter/grey until you click on it again, then it will go back to normal. This happens with maximised windows but there doesn't seem to be a way to reliably replicate it. Doing something like opening a browser and spamming the mouse button on that window in the Taskbar will usually make it happen, eventually... Or sometimes it will just quickly flash this lighter colour instead.

2. As others have mentioned, with maximised windows the auto-hide Taskbar sometimes doesn't appear. It happens more often with browsers and things like Adobe software. But this isn't specific to Start11, because Windows has had this problem going all the way back to Vista or earlier. So it would be great if Start11 could FINALLY fix what Microsoft can't. There's a small progam called RudeWindowFixer that will 99.9% fix this problem. So it can still happen, but it's becomes extremely rare to the point that it's no longer an issue. The program seems to work with the Enhanced Taskbar (i haven't been able to make it happen so far...). Could you implement something similar into Start11?

Do you have autohide set to reserve space or not in Start11 settings?

Hi,

As in last version when using this to enhance the taskbar the system taskbar option for the position of the start button will not stay as centred, it always switches back to left aligned. Soon as I turn off the option in Start 11 to enhance the taskbar I can set it to centred and it will stay there.

This interferes with another utility, Everything Taskbar, meaning it's box is left aligned.

Is there a reason why it does this can can it be stopped ?

This isn't new, this has been how Start11 works since day one.

You can set a centred taskbar in Start11 itself from the start button page.
