Quoting Neil Banfield,

Quoting djc5166,

Anyway to implement hiding the last couple of visible pixels when windows auto-hide taskbar is enabled? I think this is a hold over from the standard windows taskbar?

I am not sure exactly what you mean here?

When autohide is enabled there will always be a 1 pixel line at the edge of the screen used for mouse detection.

I guess I mean, make that 1 pixel line transparent when the taskbar is collapsed, but still have the mouse detection work. I've seen other software that can do something like that. I'm sure a lot of probably overly concerned OLED owners would appreciate the option.

I guess just setting taskbar transparency 0% gets you there, depending on if your wallpaper plays nice with that.

The new enhanced taskbar autohide option should meet your needs.  This is in the 2.0.0.4 update.

Start11 v2 2.0.0.4, with Windows 11 build 22621.2428 (22H2) and build 22631.2506 (23H2).

1. When Taskbar auto-hide is enabled it has a large gap where the Taskbar used to be at the bottom of any maximised window:

This does not happen when using Windows auto-hide. The main reason i use auto-hide is to get some extra vertical space, so right now the Start11 auto-hide is a bit pointless. But apart from that i like how the Taskbar appears/disappears quicker and i also prefer the fade in/out animation over the clunky old Windows auto-hide animation.

2. Occasionally with auto-hide, when the Taskbar fades in, it will be empty. All of the pinned Taskbar apps will take 1 - 2 seconds before they appear. This is random and i can't find a reliable way to replicate it, but it maybe happens more often when the Taskbar has been hidden for at least a few minutes.

3. Another auto-hide problem - Sometimes when a window/app is open it wont appear on the Taskbar until i click on the Taskbar or open another window. Below you can see how the Settings app is not appearing (it should be right under the red arrow):

4. If you open File Explorer and then click on the file icon in the Taskbar with the middle mouse button, it will open a separate File Explorer window. This no longer works when using the Enhanced Taskbar.

Same issue here, probably the biggest issue with using it right now.

Is anyone else seeing items in the start menu not updating to reflect uninstalled software?   In other words, I uninstall an application and I still see its folder and "empty" icons in the start menu.

Settings are backed up to a file, so you'll need to save another backup every time you make a settings change.
You can overwrite the old backup file or save it with a new file name.

Thanks. Yes, you have to define a file name and a location. That was how I noticed that backup was not automatic. I hope this will be fixed, because just like that, it’s of limited interests.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not reproduce your issue. Are you looking at a pinned application or a pinned folders?

Thanks

Thanks for the bug report.

We have addressed the first issue for the next update as that was a bug with not setting things initially correctly.

The repainting issues have been tweaked too.

With regards to the middle click, that is working correctly here.  The only time it will fail I think is when explorer already has a This pc window open.  It will then not open a new one as it already has one.

Hi I didn't notice this thread until after I had posted an issue with text label positioning https://forums.stardock.com/523785/start-11-v2-text-labels

any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

This seems specific to the Windows 10 style menu.  We are working on addressing this for the next beta update.  Thanks for letting us know.

I'd like to set my tiles in themiddle of Start Screen and it seems the ability to change the group rows number would allow me to do that, unfortunately no matter what I click on the list it stays at automatic

Unfortunately, my registration for Start11 v2 does not work any more, since the serial does not match my e-mail. Please contact me via PM, so that I can access Beta 3. I will give you my registration details there.

The core of the problem is that my initial order has a typo in the e-mail address. Can I change the registration to another email? My service ID for support is SSN-61090.

Which menu style are you using?

Now that the per desktop page option is working is there a way to make a page "forget" its desktop. Reverting to opening whatever the last page was (on that desktop)? If not may I suggest it.

Yeah you're right. But can this be changed to open another This PC window? That is the default behaviour on Windows and i have File Explorer set to open This PC by default, so i use the middle mouse click quite often to open another window here.

Creating a ticket (as you did) is what is appropriate for account \ registration issues.  Please do not post them in the product feedback forum.

Just curious, because I didn't receive any replies. Is anyone using the enhanced taskbar in 2.0.0.4 experiencing the issue described in reply #46?

Thanks,

pelaird

My active app icon is blue (atm) with enhanced taskbar on. However I am not using combined mode icons that may make a difference.

EDIT:

Nope just checked it uses my accent color for combined and not combined mode.

Thanks for checking. I can't seem to diagnose what's causing this issue.

I have been searching around my settings for a while and can not find any controls whatsoever for [Taskbar Icon Underline]

My Menu is for [Taskbar Menu Text] not [Taskbar Icon Underline]. Is this a difference between Windows 10 and 11 or am I missing the location of this menu option?

Additionally, without access to that menu my taskbar color for the underline is that same with enhanced or not enhanced.

I also do not see an option. I do have the normal/focused text color option but not for the underline.

So far working well for me. Thanks bunches. I realize it was probably late for this release but you can you say if you have looked into the 2 issues I posted before.

1. Systray icons appear to recreate themselves when a taskbar button is removed (closing a window or moving to another monitor)

2. Ability to remove a pages designated desktop.

The UI looks great on this release.

Thanks to Neil and his team for the [advanced rounded taskbar settings]. The taskbar feels very customizable now which is a good thing.
