DeskScapes 10.02 Beta

Bug fixes

from Stardock Forums

Today we are making a beta available for DeskScapes - version 10.02.

Initial testing has shown that it fixes the following:

  • Applying dreams
  • Dreams not showing a preview
  • Some 'black screen' issues under certain conditions. 
  • Errors when trying to run msra.exe 

Clients with Stardock accounts can get the beta from your account page:

Please uninstall the DS10 version you have now, reboot, and install the beta.

Please use this thread to report any issues, what they are and how to reproduce.

Well DeskScapes10_10.02-j48-Setup.exe worked for me except preview is distorted

Did you mess around with codecs?  The preview will use a 32 bit one and the desktop 64 bit so buggy codec packs could cause that.

Also check which engine Deskscapes is using for video in settings.

New version is working correctly including previews here.  Currently running with Media Foundation in settings, but also tested with Media Show EVR.  Thanks for working diligently to correct whatever it was that happened.

on the newest beta directshow vmr9 is the only setting that does not distort the preview

Hello,

For those of you who might still be having issues with DS10 or the Preview window or get a decoder warning ,

Try the Latest DS10 Beta download here https://cdn.stardock.us/downloads/public/software/deskscapes/DeskScapes10_10.02-j48-Setup.exe

and others may need to change the Deskscapes engine - see image below by going to the DS10 app settings 

and changing to the Direct Show VMR-9 setting .

Aurora Borealis, BigBang Theory (trig.), Blue Flow, E.C.G., Financial Time, Leviathan, Leviathan 2, Halloween, Zero gravity II, Lake Night Waterfall HD, say no decoder.

Desktop Energy, ET's Toy Blocks, Purple Thunder Storm, Virus, Moonbirds (D), just no preview.
