Compatibility issue with an app?

Compatibility issue with an app?

Please let us know

If you have compatibility issues with WindowBlinds and an application or game, please do let us know in this thread so we can investigate it and hopefully resolve the problem.

Please make sure you are running the latest version of WindowBlinds first and that the problem exists with a theme included with WindowBlinds vs a downloaded one.

Please provide as much detail as you can, screenshots of the problem, information on the application itself, how to reproduce the problem and if possible dmp files from any crashes.

The information on the about WindowBlinds page and information on your setup would be helpful too.

I am using your Corporate skin with Windows 10. Some of the notification icons in the tray don't show. Specifically two:

One is the device removal icon and the other is for notifications.

That is more like incompatible of Corporate style/skin with current Windows 10 Dark Theme. Which making those icons pure white.

Yes, use compatible skin style. Some of those current/new skin style come with Dark and Light sub-style.

Not really a solution, I like Corporate!

Not a biggie for me, I replaced the Windows eject by USB Safely Remove, which uses a colored icon.

Only Network is invisible, so with only one hole, it's easy to know.

How do you replace it?

Unfortunately, it's not free:

Maybe there is a freeware that does the same, you could try to google it.

If you into Skinstudio you can change that part with a dark color graphics. Here is how:-

Open Skinstudio. Load Corporate.

1) Go to Edit Titlebars and frames.

2) Select UIS2 Frames : Select Non captioned window edge.

3) On Image tab (lower left) Need to change that image to something else.

4) Click on dropdown arrow.

5) Search for and select "min_Window_caption.bmp" look like this part compatible for "Non caption Windows edge"

6) Save the skin.

7) Appy skin.

8) Result if it was done correctly, you should now have that on your system.

Thanks! Works great. Can you please adopt that or add a Dark Mode variant in your next  release so that I don't lose this change.

Sorry, I can't do that. That design is not mine to alter as I like and upload it to others. What I can do is tell how you can change it and use it on your own computer without circulating it for other to use.

Ok, so I just got to reproduce the fix. It is possible for Windows Blinds to keep a log of these hot fixes? Or can we contact the author?

Side issue with the theme:

Basically I have several apps running. Only the active tab is clear in the task bar. The other active apps don't even look like they are running which confuses me. For example, File Explorer is running. Can we somehow make it clearer the icons on the task bar that are "running" but not "active" app?

Thanks. Two other observations:

My application resizes the print preview window of IE to fit the screen. When I don't use a skin it sizes and displays nice. When I do use Corporate it is offset and does not look as nice. See?

Corporate was design to use a lot of dropdown shadows. And since that shadows is build in/fixed it can not be turn off. Only option here is to tick the "Do not use per pixel frames even if the style supplies them".

This solves another problem I did not report yet: I had to use the "Shift Pixels Vertically" to see correctly the additional controls that Actual Windows Manager ads to each window, which was a real pain. Now, the controls stay aligned.

AWM users will understand what I mean.

Thanks.

It was mentioned a couple of posts back. It does not highlight active apps very well. It needs underline as on normal taskbar.

as it is the active are not clear. Look a few posts back on the chat to see my and others comments.

You can check this easily yourself. :) I just tried "Circles" and they are rendering active apps diiferently on the status bar - they stand out.

With corporate using the vertical bars in not right. It should be horizontal, like basic windows or like circles theme (which does top/bottom).

I don't have a theme name "circles", could you please post a link so I can verify.
