Here is a video bug report. I uploaded this to youtube "unlisted" so you need a direct link to get to it. This so I don't violate the NDA. Much of it shows the "units in space" bug totespro described.

The projectiles shooting straight up is an error with the particles and is purely graphical.

I am not really sure if it's a bug or not but if you completely decimate every single building and unit in the game, you still have to wait for those victory points to finish. Is that the only "game mode" available, or i've missed something essential? Clearly the enemy cannot return to a battle with nothing left on the battlefield.

Also, the AI is having huge difficulties capturing a point that i'm currently capturing. (i'll try to screenshot that but i believe it won't help).

I discovered god mode after saving a game. This happened the first time for now. So here are the details:

- DX12 version

- 4 Players,drake map, single player

- after saving the game, units i built spawns instantly (even the big ones) without the need of any material. Also buildings are there instantly. It has something to do with the save game. It didnt happen before.

- i also have much more problems with aots after updating to the newest geforce driver 355.82. The driver itself seems to crash now and then, shutting down the game too. Is it the nvidia revenge for the asynchronous compute problem?

I can provide a  savegame, its reproducable.

 

hardware: geforce 660 gtx, core i7 4770S, 16GByte RAM, Win10 Pro 64bit

I wrote this bug in a new post, without seeing this one

i will paste it here again.

When i Start a Single player map using DX12 Build 0.50:

  • Pre-Built Extractors: Off
  • Map Terrain: Hidden
  • Neutral Defenders: On

Then Save Game ---> Quit Game ---> Open Again AOTS ---> Load the Saves game.

When i load back my saved game. the map load fine but with Map Terrain: Exposed and all the Enemy Structures Exposed.

 

Plus I will like to add the need to create a load game button while playing the game without the need to quit game to load the saved game.

I can't find who posted it, maybe it was the guy who posted the youtube video..

But someone reported ground units flying through the air.  I have seen this multiple times, and I believe I may know why it's happening.

 

I find I can repeat this bug when you have many units spread across various valleys and mountains.  If I select all these units, and form them all into 1 meta unit, some units fly into the air.

I think this is because the units naturally attempt to form up into formation when a meta unit is created.  But because they are so spread out, and there is so much terrain in the way, the units get confused, and seemingly take the "path of least resitance", and just fly through the air to where they need to be lol

Hope this helps, at least maybe you'll be able to repeat the bug!

Can someone please delete that huge base64 post (Reply #59)? I contacted the admins two times but nobody seems to listen. It makes this thread kind of unreadable.

It's happening to me too after saving a game and loading it back. I think it has 100% repro. rate.

Does the game have auto crash reporting? Ever since the new patch I can't play more than about 15 minutes before a  CTD. I've played different maps, changed settings, always a CTD around 15 minutes. 

 

Just want to know that if I crash you guys get a report?

I too am encountering the insta-build problem. Seems to happen if unit production is blocked for resource reasons (insufficient logistics, metal, etc. maybe), and then gets unblocked. No reliable reproduction yet.

My capital units are constantly getting stuck in potholes. Additionally, when this happens the combat group attached to the capital ship won't move. In some cases, even if I disband the group, there are still units (Energizers, I think) which won't respond to move orders despite no longer being in any group.

Additionally, is there supposed to be any kind of unit label displayed when you select them? I get stats for the unit at the bottom of the screen, but it won't tell me what the unit/structure is. Kind of frustrating when I don't really recognize the structure geometry from memory.

I posted a bug report here regarding an "instantly" producing units and structures bug, plus extremely laggy play when in multiplayer. Can post a video if it would help.

As mentioned before it's from hitting Alt.  If you Alt+Tab out and come back into the game, simply tapping Alt will remove them until the next time you jump out again.

Thanks, worked this out!!

 

on the instant units bug, an update. It also seems to be triggered once you have aquired around 3 resource extractors. played a 2 player game yesterday, the bug appeared for me first, but my friend continued the game with normal resources and unit production.

 

once the bug occurred, unit and buildings can be created instantly, no resource collection is necessary, it is stuck at -1 for both, regardless of resource points owned.

Ok so I played with this a lot.

I'm calling this the IBB (Instant Build Bug) for now.

I did three different scenarios

 

Scenario One:

Engineer #1 builds Logistics Array #1

Engineer #1 Ques to build Logistics Array #2

Logistics Array #1 complete, Engineer #1 moves to begin Logistics Array #2

During the build, Metal runs out, but ESC/ESC does nothing at this point

Engineer #1 builds Logistics Array #3

Metal runs out, ESC/ESC begins the IBB

The IBB didn't seem to begin until after I had selected the Engineer and doing the ESC/ESC

 

Scenario Two:

Begin a map without any metal extractors in game, to speed up how fast you burn through your stored Metal

Engineer #1 builds Logistics Array

Engineer #1 completes the Logistic Array

Engineer #1 builds Logistics Array #2

During the build, Metal runs out, ESC/ESC begins the IBB

The IBB didn't seem to begin until after a certain amount of time had passed.  Several ESC/ESC attempts failed both selecting nothing and selecting the Engineer.

 

Scenario Three:

Engineer #1 builds Research Matrix #1

Que up 5 more Engineers to be built

Engineer #2 appears, and is sent to build Research Matrix #2

Engineer #3 appears, and is sent to build Research Matrix #3

Research Matrix #1 is built

Engineer #4 appears, and is sent to build Research Matrix #4

Engineer #1 sent to build Research Matrix #5

Engineer #5 appears, but I leave him alone

During the builds, Metal runs out, ESC/ESC begins the IBB

No Engineer was selected at this time, or at the time the Metal ran out.

 

Now I tried having an Engineer selected and not selected.  Didn't seem to matter.

Which color are they flashing?  White means under attack - black means you are not getting metal or radioactives from the region since it is cut off from your Nexus.  If it is black I can see that going on till you reconnect the region.

It's the same for me. Seems to occur when I attack an NPC base in single player.

Six bugs in 100 seconds (video unlisted):

1. Unit frames on units queued before factory completion remain forever.

2. Initially the Seed's action is set to building engineers. Later in the game, without my doing anything, the Seed's action changes to Global Abilities.

3. I fat-fingered 'e' when hitting 'w'. An Advanced Factory blueprint got placed on the map, though I did not actually place any building, nor did the engineer move to build anything.

4. A couple enemy units became quite viewable even though they were only in RADAR range.

5. Units in the back of fights still don't move to participate. I do not like this behavior.

6. Units in a battle group ordered to move shuffle themselves, taking several seconds before actually moving. I do not like this behavior.

EDIT for 0.60:

1. Still present

2. I think this is still present

3. Still present, easy to replicate. Just select an engineer then hit 'w' and 'e' simultaneously.

4. Don't know, didn't observe.

5. Still present

6. Better it seems, need more testing

Latest Build

 

1. Tooltip would only stay visible for a second. I would have to move my mouse constantly to view them.

 

2. Voice for Logistics needed was nearly impossible to understand. There is another one I can't seem to understand either, it might be related to the victory points or held spots.

 

3. Research and Global abilities wouldn't pop up sometimes after the button was clicked.

 

4. Reseach matrix was far more to difficult to place. I assume to meant for it to be a little harder as I used to be able to place them everywhere but now they are really hard to place not sure if that is intentional. 

 

Edit:

 

5: When ordering a group to a spot you already hold they won't move if you command shows the blue line(I assume this is the capture indicator)

Another bug I'm running into at the moment.

 

I'm using a 1080p monitor, while utilizing AMD's VSR to utilize 1440p that is scaled into the 1080p.  When I run Ashes on the current patch (0.60) if I set the game resolution to 1080p, it actually runs at 1440p, matching my desktop resolution, instead of my chosen resolution.
