I already have a tarnished reputation, I can't fix that.

Well, you could, but it'd take a long time.

About as popular as New Coke or Obamacare.

PM me. Tell me how I am supposed to do that. Some members here will always be against me.

Anyhow, sorry to hijack, back to topic, thanks.

Kona, sometimes it seems you just argue to be arguing. And you contradict yourself a lot. I just accept that as part of being you.

Indeed.

W8 turned computing into a nightmare for ME. Just me, kona. Everybody else in the world just loves it.

I found a few minor things they made the first monitor start button visible but the secondary taskbar startbutton is still hidden.
Its a bit hard to have it pop up since the charmsbar is relatively near that thing they should have left 2 pixels of space in-between them.

I also face some color issues on login screen... normaly that was blue as i set it up, now its black... not that much of a problem but just saying
Im not certain yet if this is due decor8 or if its just 8.1 i set the colors in Adjustments to the same as they are in decor but still its staying black for whatever reason.
Thought it might have to do with admin privileges but iam admin on my system.
Very strange will need to uninstall decor once more to test.

Could it be that 8.1 is automatically uploading a backup to the cloud. Just a thought.

Normaly yes Windows 8.1 had Syncing aswell as Skydrive enabled again after the update.
But i disabled everything once more right after...

Anyway i shouldn´t have had posted this issue, im not even certain its windows8.1 based...
Sorry for that... didnt mean to rumble the Jungle so i deleted the unnecessary text on my last post

LOL@Doc.  I'm sure there are plenty of people here and out there who feel the same as you do, Doc. Just not everyone.

Like Kona, there are a lot of people who do not use Stardock products as well, to each his own.

Some like, some don't, some have problems, some don't.

Its the same for most OS's...not everyone liked 98SE yet I did. Win 95...Vista and Win7. Good points and bad points. Not everyone will be pleased. I'm beginning to like Win8 after having played with it for a bit. Plus the clean installs of Win8.1 may solve some issues over time.

Come on now.  NOBODY liked Windows ME. ;)

Doc are you still hooked on that Apple iKoolaid?   Come now, tell us the truth!    O:)

I believe a picture is worth 1,000 words, the_Monk.

Do send one.

iOS...Linux...not hooked, but depending on what W9 looks like, a dual boot - Linux + W7 (for Ps) might be my future.

I bought ME new in the box when it came out. Installed it, never had any issues with it.

Doc, I swear, if you make Jim any skinnier his pants will drop off.

Bessie will get all kinds of nervous and the rest of us will be teetering on the brink of returning our lunches.

BEHAVE!

You were the one.

I heard tell that someone actually liked it.....but I thought that was just bullshit PR from Microsoft.

BTW....'ME' stood for 'Masochists Enjoy'

Win ME came installed on a computer I purchased and I had no problems with it.

Just because that computer died mysteriously has no bearing what so ever on Win ME! (the real Y2K bug!)

I installed 8.1 Saturday and after setting it to boot to desktop, Log in automatically, re-installing

one program, (notified through a Win 8.1 pop-up message, needed update anyway) and updating

Fences and Deskscapes, everything seems to be working just fine!

(did I write that correctly M$?  your not going to punish us again with another bloated OS, are you?)

No, they won't punish you again with another Vista.

  1. willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences.
