Missing forum features?

1: is there a way to search the forums? The search box just seems to be Google, and I'm sure people have asked these questions before, and I don't want to be annoying bugging you with classic FAQs, but there you are.

2: In the drop down menu on my nick, when I chose "email hfball" it says I have "chosen not to receive emails." Is there any way I can elect to receive email replies? I already checked "show email" in my profile, but that doesn't seem to have done anything.

This may look 'simple' as improvements go...but I have a feeling it's quite deep and profound [under the hood]....hence the quirks.

/me has complete confidence in Pat .... [he's probably already put out a contract on the person or persons responsible for it all getting just a little weird] ...;)

.... I wouldn't want your job T-Man, it must be like looking for a needle in a haystack!

It's more like being a detective and trying to put all the clues together.  Can be fun.

Anyway.....I think I solved the problem with the Ads displaying for subscribers.  It was a complicated mess between caching data with inherited objects.   Should be fixed now, so. Please let me know if you are a WinCustomize subscriber and you are still see ads on the WinCustomize forums.

Moderators,  hopefully you should have your buttons back again. (One last cache refresh may be necessary).  Let me know if they are still not displaying.

This latest update seems to have done the trick.

Thanks, Pat.

It's working.....although I don't see my "BAN" button ;)

All seems to be back to normal using IE9, thank you.   :sun:

Now I wonder, should I download IE10 and give that a try, hmmmm.   :-"

Looks like things are more or less back to normal. Buttons only show up when I mouse over them but other than that, not a big deal.

Win7 x64 17.0 here at work, 18 at home. Icon's are still goofy.

Other than the Stardock specific (FE / GC / SoaSE) adds, I see nothing. I also use Ad-Block+ so that's a nice feature I guess. Viewing through the SoaSE portal.

Just noticed that the social media buttons on OP's are stacked in a column under the Create Post button rather than arrayed in a row the way they used to be.

PM 19.0.1, Win7 64b.

Kudos to T-Man. Social buttons line up as they always did, side by side. All other buttons are there with an addition....this is the first time I'm seeing the Create Post button up top. usually I see it only when I click on a category. BTW - no more ads!

Try hitting your Compatibility Button,  mine did the same as yours until I got back on the right compatibility view. All seems great now, no ads , and all the buttons do appear on mouseover , which I think is actually pretty cool rather than having them visible all the time...makes things look so much cleaner. I'm using IE 10 by the way. Thank-you so much Patrick for all of your hard work, I know it had to be a quite a challenge and I commend you for a job well done. 5*            -- Ace --

No 'compatibility mode' on Palemoon.

Just got home to my XP rig and the social media buttons are correctly positioned using the same Palemoon version, so it's something to do with Win7 (also maybe 64b).

I downloaded Pale Moon 64bit version on to my Win 7 machine and its displaying the social icons properly.  So I'm not sure what the problem is at this time.  Minor issue so I'm not sure if I'll put much time into unless I can reproduce it.

Meanwhile, moving on to working with our new features where you will be able to subscribe to a post and optionally receive emails when there are new replies.

That's not going to be worked in.  There's "bigger" changes coming but that's all I can say.  :P

Not certain my Win7 Palemoon version is 64b, unless it defaults to that on a 64b machine.  Clearly it is 32b on the XP rig.

Agree not a big deal.  It'll get sorted after the bigger fish are fried.

Thanks, T-Man

EDIT: More I think about it, the more I'm thinking it is the 32b version but the About dialog doesn't indicate one way or the other.

If it's in Program Files, it's 64 bit. If it is in Program Files (x86) it's 32 bit. ;)

It will be listed under taskmanager (ALT+CTRL+DEL) with *32 if it's x86
