Missing forum features?

1: is there a way to search the forums? The search box just seems to be Google, and I'm sure people have asked these questions before, and I don't want to be annoying bugging you with classic FAQs, but there you are.

2: In the drop down menu on my nick, when I chose "email hfball" it says I have "chosen not to receive emails." Is there any way I can elect to receive email replies? I already checked "show email" in my profile, but that doesn't seem to have done anything.

newb out. :star:

Quoting Uvah, reply 61I don't think I'm supposed to see view edits on anyone's but my own. You're supposed to be able to see them.

Yes, but only on the ones that have been edited, Ross. It won't be on any others. Daiwa and I are probably the only ones you checked that had been edited.

I made a oops, sorry.  Looks like the emotes go to the next line.

If you add more than one, each creates a new line.

Damn, still getting ads using IE 9 in the forums, and yes, I'm signed in.

Just the forums, or are you seeing ads elsewhere on the site?

I only see ads in the forums.

I still see absolutely nothing in the forums ... at all. No buttons. :-P

I've tested FF 18.0.2 and all is working well here.  Please try clearing your cache and restarting the browser to see if that fixes the problem.

If you are a subscriber or admin you should not be seeing the ads anymore.

I am a subscriber, cleared cache and cookies, logged back in and I still get the banner ads and those annoying as hell hyperlinks. No problems with the buttons.

XP Pro IE8.

Does that include the single ad in the forums? That one is still there. FF 19

I see none at all ...but then I'm both Admin and Subscriber...;)

I'm still seeing a banner ad for Google Chrome at the top of the forums.

Make sure you do a couple of hard refreshes, Cntrl+F5.  It took several for me to get some changes applied.

OK....IE9 latest update, FF19 latest update & Chrome 25 latest update

cleared all history, cache, everything - no joy

I see no buttons on any post except the OP

When I click the user name nothing happens....nada, zip, zilch, UNLESS I'm logged out, then they work (still no buttons & IE9 still doesn't work)

All screenshots or other pics in posts are not scaling down and they don't have scroll bars or any way to view the portion outside of the thread box

I've CTRL+5'ed a dozen times with no change

I'm guessing (not a coder) that this is in the user database and not the site since all my browsers show the same issues and other people's work.

ads still come and go in the forum

I only see buttons when I mouse over each post

FF19

Well..... I ran CCleaner and it seems that has resolved the ad issues, for the time being anyway. Hopefully it will stick, but so far, so good.                       -- Ace --

Perhaps it's not impossible to be a user-level issue....though typically that's always me...as I'm 'odd' ...;)

For those who cannot see buttons, what Operating System are you running?  One person has reported to me they are using Apple and Android products so I am wondering if those who are having problems are on non Windows systems.

And for those who are still getting ads, clearing the cache wont help you, that was for the other issues. I'm still looking into why ads are showing for some of you.  Hold tight.

Thanks for the update. Currently, using IE9/Win7, everything looks like it is back to "normal" (I use that term loosely) at WinCustomize.

Thanks for all the efforts, TMan.

Indeed.

IE10, W7 Home Premium x64. No problems currently, other than the Wizop/Moderator thing.
