[eMod] Female Henchmen Updated v6

[eMod] Female Henchmen Updated v6

Unpack the files into your

 documents\my games\fallenenchantress\mods\

folder: You must check use mods in the game to use these henchwomen.

For those that don't want to click on use mods and have it part of the default game, then for organization purposes put under your documents fallen enchantress location the following files in these locations.

henchwoman.xml goes into your units folder

henchclothes.xml goes into your items folder

henchartitems.xml goes into your items folder

henchabilities.xml goes into your items folder

henchracetypes.xml goes into racetypes

This mod is Stormworld compatible (untested, but I did what heavenfall asked of me)

Note that: henchstormworld.xml is for stormworld compatibility (but will not cause any problems if you load it into your usual game).

There is a limitation how-ever. In order, to custom design your own female henchmen you have to edit on of the pre-existing henchwomen there.

I've updated to the latest version... get it here

Unpack the file into the mods folder (if you want to enable mods in your options.)

If you don't want to enable mods, then you move the files to their appropriate places in the items, racetypes, and units folder.

If you have a previous copy, delete those files. The new files are more condenced and done in a more modular way so as to work with other things as well.

I made sure to remove the older ones before I applied the new ones in.

Ive got a nice new game going and i'm prepped to start training up my own hench followers. I went and hid all the default unit designs. This game. Its all being done with custom designed units ^_^

Ah thats right, we werent able to tweak the traits n such on the female variation were we?

Edit: oook nvm, for some reason it wasnt letting me do it initially, now its letting my play around with the traits. KICKASS

Now to make my lightning spell using spear wielding Valkyrie

You can edit nearly everything. You just can't create a generic henchwoman from scratch. Although, there is a little glitch about sometimes not being able to change traits, but it's not consistent and I think it is more of a vanilla problem, than what my mod does.

Have fun with your valkyrie spear women.

Yea i noticed, just canceled out and went back in again and i was able to play around with traits.

I'm right that some of the defensive ones at least are some of the same that can show up during the champion/henchman lvl up stages?

My Valkyrie will b good to go as long as the henchmen air trait will let them cast a lightning spell in the advanced levels

I think some of those defensive traits show up in the level up process. I recognize some of those traits in the champion level up.

I will add the artdef support for the Stormworld stuff myself in the next release. It makes much more sense to have it in my mod than in yours, because when I add new content you shouldn't have to update. You'll need to keep the unitstats though. When I release the next version of Stormworld there is no need for you to update yours (no overwrite issues) but if you update this again in the future you could remove the Stormworld artdef stuff.

No problem Heavenfall. When you do your next version of Stormworld I'll update my files then.

Possibly got a bit of a glitch going with the female variation.

I had designed a female henchwoman based off one of the ones u had created, in this case the shieldwoman.

once i brought it out of training however its equipment was a little off. Instead of the spear she shouldve had she came equipped with only a shield and no weapon. If i go in to check the unit in the design tab it still shows the correct changes I had made when I designed her.

Not being familiar with the files and how they are edited i'm not really sure what mightve caused it. Thought i'd point it out though just in case you may be able to pinpoint the cause. All other equipment and such and traits I selected came through correctly. It was just the missing spear and the shield/no weapon thing that seem to have gotten thrown off.

I'll buy her a good spear and keep the current game going though.

This seems to be a vanilla bug as well. The same problem occurs with the shieldman if you edit him with a spear.

You still have the spear, just de-equip the shield and you get your spear back. It's a two handed weapon thing and the shield problem.

I'll see if I can fix the vanilla problem too ;)

Not exactly sure how I'm going to fix this problem without some coding help. The problem lies in the fact that when making a shieldman / woman the shield is a part of the character creation itself. This yields no problem, but when you de-equip you always have the original shield and weapon. The developers decided that they would give you the option of de-equiping the shield and so did the auto-create equipment.

This leads to the current problem. It always gives you a shield for free.

Ah, well easy step around then will just be editing a female torch bearer or bardette then :)

I had a guiding spear i had picked up somewhere anyway so i gave that to her lol

I don't see a link to DL the files, did you yank it?

Yeah it's on fallen enchantress nexus and it's going to be on wincustomize soon... waiting for approval ;)

This update does nothing functionally different. It is just preparing for stormworld to take over some of the files of compatibility.

Yeah, there is no need to update. V3 only removes the files specifically for stormworld items. Heavenfall said the next update he will have them there so I don't have to keep up with what he's doing.

Update v4. fixed some minor xml issues and ensures the appropriate graphic for the ivory platehelm.

contrary to OP, it seems I can only design MALE henchman by editing the esisting ones, while I can design a custom henchwoman from scratch just fine.

Hmm... I've tested it out and all I can design are male henchmen from sratch. I know that I can set it up to design henchwomen from scratch, but that requires editing fo the core files. But in either case one should be able to edit both male and female henchmen with all the available traits.

well that is weird... but it seems to work fine anyway so no problem :D

it seems I wasn't using the latest version so please disregard that :)

Been a bit since I poked around here but I'm guessing this version is still current and compatible with the latest patches for Fallen Enchantress?
