Sins: Rebellion Collector's Edition Upgade

Sins: Rebellion Collector's Edition Upgade

So I got an email about the upgrade to Sins Collector's Edition... According to the email, only 2,600 are available... and the price of the "upgrage" is $69.99 plus S/H.

I already own Rebellion on steam. Does it mean that I still have to pay $69.99 plus S/H for a toy and dog tags?

Check out what’s included below:

  • Painted Kol Battleship Model
  • Set of Rebellion dog tags
  • Metal imaged mouse pad with Rebellion artwork
  • Steelbook DVD Case with game DVD and 2 music CDs
  • Two 18x26" Rebellion posters

https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/collectorsedition?ref=sinscollectm1_topheaderimg

I checked and after taxes and shipping, the so-called "upgrade" will come to roughly $109...

Now I would be happy to own this stuff, but for at least 2x cheaper... considering I already own the game and all previous sins games.

you CAN, just that each computer NEEDS to be permitted to use the steam account , and only ONE computer at a time logs in to the steam account, BUT EACH computer NEEDS steam or rebellion does NOT WORK.

harpo

So, all I have to do to play this on a computer other than the one I downloaded Rebellion on originally is:

1. Receive SOASE Rebellion Collector's Edition

2. Install steam on a new(or different) computer

3. Turn the Steam on the first computer to offline mode (not sure how to do that).  Log in on new computer using old account

4. Play Rebellion

Right?  By the way, the reason I want to play this on a new computer is because my new computer is truly at least a dozen times better(faster, better graphics, ect.) than my old one that currently has the Rebellion that I downloaded online.

Please correct me if I am incorrect about any information.

Thanks.

1: Make sure Steam is either in offline mode or not running on your old computer.

2: Install Steam on your new computer.

3: Log in using your existing Steam account on the new computer (the one with Rebellion tied to it).

4: Download Rebellion to your new computer using the Steam client.

5: Install Rebellion and shut down Steam.

6: Start up Steam in offline mode (this will be prompted in case you don't have an internet connection available at the time you start Steam, otherwise you have to do this manually).

7. Play Rebellion without having to access its online features.

Fixed it for you.

Following this, minus steps seven and eight, can I play multiplayer?

TBH all you need to do is install Steam on the new computer [Ensuring you are logged out or offline on your old one], Sign in, go to the "Library" tab and click "Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion", then tell it to Download and Install. A CD of course would be faster, but you have to wait till late September.

Ignoring steps 5, 6 and 7 of LupusVir, who I believe may have assumed you wanted to primarily play on your old computer not your new one, will allow you to play Sins Rebellion with nothing locked out. It is unlikely you will have access to your saves, though maybe Steam Cloud Saves could counter that - I'm not sure, I always keep it off.

As I understand it, you could easily still the game on as many PCs as you own, but as has been posted, you can only be logged into Steam on 1 system at a time.  Let's say you don't like to turn off your extra PCs, however - in that case, Steam will auto-log you out on your other systems, or you can put them into Offline mode.

Skittles and I are working to secure some coupon deals for those who purchase CE's as an extra "thank you for your purchase and patience."  These will be emailed once the CE orders are charged.

thanks guys.  also, coupons sound nice.

yay :-)  what kind of coupons? like "half off sins 2" or just random "10% off your next steam purchase" kind of thing?

Yeah, a coupon for Sins 2 would be very nice Yarlen. However, as you have not announced that game and it may or may not be even in development, I can understand some other kind of coupon being given. Either way, thanks Yarlen and redskittlesonly. You guys have proven your awesomeness again.

I vote for Sins 2 coupon.  And if it must be steam, it should be for more than 10%.

... can I have my coupon autographed? O:)

in all my experiences with steam, it does not auto-log you out when you attempt to launch it on another system. it asks you for your password and makes you do the email verification thingy. coupons would be wonderful, an excuse to keep buying games when i really shouldnt :D

Nice! This is why I love Stardock! You guys are always so good to your customers and help us in any way you can. Now I can get at least one friend to get Sins: Rebellion and we can blow up some alien butt together.
