Stardock Entertainment and Ironclad Games are pleased to inform xenos-loving galactic conquerors that the Vasari Empire arrives in Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion today with the release of Beta 3 for all pre-order customers.

NOTE: BETA 3 IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PRIOR SAVE GAMES OR REPLAYS.

Changes From Beta 2c:

[ Graphics ]

  • Further refined shield effects.
  • Increased large debris sizes.
  • Fixed some incorrect shield meshes.

[ Gameplay ]

  • The Vasari Loyalists and Rebel factions are now available for play!
  • All races Scout frigates should now be able to properly detect mines again. This ability has been made passive.
  • Flagship's no longer have a role type.
  • Flagship's now count as Battleships in terms of stats.
  • Fixed bug that would improperly boot host and players from a Friends Only ICO game.
  • Fixed bug that was causing abilities that target strike craft to fail.
  • Added missing string for ally titan lost.
  • Fixed bug were Research and Occupation victories would not cause a loss for opponents.
  • Added Titans to new Titan statcount type.
  • Fixed a possible false positive save state mismatch bug (multiplayer desyncs).
  • Fixed bug with HyperspaceAntimatterCostAdjustment - was being calculated incorrectly.
  • Fixed a desync bug in multiplayer.
  • TEC
    • Removed improper constraint on Corsev's Boarding Party ability that prevented it from converting in non-Friendly gravity wells.
    • TEC Loyalists
      • Furious Defense ability hull damage autocast levels adjusted per updated HP stats.
  • Advent
    • Fixed bug with Cultural Integrity Envoy ability that prevented it from working.
    • Fixed bug with Cultural Assistance Envoy ability that was causing it to increase, rather than decrease, planet upgrade build times.
    • Advent Loyalists
      • Unity Mass will no longer be buffed by illusion ships.
      • Subjugating Assault ability will now properly toggle off.
    • Advent Rebels
      • Strength of the Fallen will no longer be buffed by illusion ships.
      • Unyielding Will duration increased from 60/60 to 120/240.

[ Sound ]

  • Fixed missing capital planet lost voiceovers.
  • Fixed enemy research victory 50% complete voiceover.
[ Modding ]
  • Various Galaxy Forge bug fixes.

Now that my excitment has dropped to a more civilised level after a quick game with the loyalists, i'd like to share a few bugs i encountered :-).

*Strip to the core is an amazing ability but the sound when it happens is really really loud. It even shoo'd my neighbour at my door xD.

*Asteroid belts that were created through strip to the core remain in the empire tree. After i devoured all their ressources, i'm understandably not terrible interested in monitoring them further.

*While the loyalist titan looks amazing, it's fins once again reveal the poor pathfinding.
I could destroy 5 capital ships with ease because they constantly bumped into the fins during retreat and got stuck there.
And one time when i wanted to bombard a planet i managed to bolt the titan between two ressource extractors and it needed ages two free itself.

Well, enough boy-scouting, the rebels await :-D....

I am having problems with the beta as it keeps crashing and freezing. the problems appear randomly and without any symptoms. Just letting you guys know.

 

CPU: Intel i5 2500K

RAM: 16GB

SSD: 60GB

HDD: 1TB

Graphics Card EVGA GTX 560

Appreciate any Response to help with this problem.

Can someone plz tell me how the new vasari (rebels and loyalist) work with building up fleet from different faction and blowing up planets and so on? atm they just work as a normal faction dos

You must down some graphics setting. I set structures to High to resolve this problem on my G74SX 1600x900. Is for the hardware limitation.

Interesting bug that I found when I had a pirate base spawn just off a star with no other connections.  I was playing Vasari Rebels and had four perfectly functional starbases around the star and decided to pull in a starbase from a nearby planet to tank out the pirate base.  Here's a crude diagram

S - star

P - pirate base

O - Nearby planets

So anyways I took the base from one of those other planet to the star and that's where all my problems started.  Three of the four star bases that were already in the star's gravity well went inactive and then the arriving star base went inactive too.  Even after the offending base left for its mission against the pirates, the three bases remained inactive.  To make things worse scuttling and then rebuilding the starbases around the star didn't fix the problem.  While this is obviously an easy bug to avoid (I only discovered it due to the arrangement of the planets and accident on top) it still creates problems since the issue appears to be permanent.

really? ive had it crash a couple times, but otherwise i can run it smooth as silk all maxed out and i have a core 2 duo e8400, 4 gb ddr2, 300 gb velociraptor, 1 tb seagate barracuda (which steam is installed on), and a gtx 285...

 

sidenote im noticing that occasionally my vasari loyalist titan's shields will not recharge fully and get stuck at a random number, whether in a friendly/neutral/enemy grav well. not sure if it happens with cap ships, as im just using my lvl 9 vorastra as a planet buster  XD
