Fallen Enchantress: Beta FAQ

Welcome to the Fallen Enchantress beta!  This FAQ should answer most of the common questions you might have for the FE beta.  Again, thank you for your help in testing FE and we'll be around to answer any other questions that might come up.

Q: Who gets the Fallen Enchantress Beta?

A: Everyone who purchased War of Magic in 2010 will receive free access to the beta.  These invitations will be staggered, watch your email to see when your invite arrives.

Q:  I’m in, where do I download it from?

A:  FE will be a direct download from your Stardock account page - https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products.  Login with your account and you will find the Fallen Enchantress beta available under the “Games” section.

Q: How do I know if I receive access?

A:  We will be sending out e-mails, you can also check the Elemental purchase page (while logged in) to see your upgrade/beta status or simply check your downloads page

Q:  I found a bug or issue with the game, what do I do now?

A: If you have feedback please post in the FE Beta forum (https://forums.elementalgame.com/forum/1010).  If you encounter any bugs or issues please post those in the support forum

To make it easier for us, please tag your post title with [BUG], [CRASH], etc.  Also, when reporting any issue, please let us know what version of the game you encountered the error on.

Thank you for your help in making Fallen Enchantress great.

Q: Is there an NDA for the Fallen Enchantress Beta?

A:  There is no NDA for the beta.

Q: Do I need to activate Fallen Enchantress?

A: The Fallen Enchantress beta requires the player to be authenticated to receive the latest updates.  You will receive a serial number with your beta invite that you will need to register your game.

Q: When will the final game be released?

A: The specific date has not been finalized yet, when it’s set then we’ll let you know!

Q:  I love Elemental!  Where can I talk about it or find out news about it?

A:  Pretty much anywhere.  We have pages on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and of course our own FE forum for people to discuss it.

Damn, I preordered FOREVER ago and I'm not seeing my invite.

Contact Stardock from the account you ordered WoM from and make sure.  It would help you have your purchase email, but I'm pretty sure they would have your pre-order details on file.

They said they'd send e-mails out in groups, not all at once.

Oh man... Email received loud and clear.

Please tell me this is the game I thought I bought 2 years ago!

I preordered Elemental: WoM so I hope get this invite ASAP or i'm replacing all your coffee with decaf.

(But no seriously, I will)

There is an insanely large amount of emails that have to go out, and it takes quite a bit of time for them to process.  There are batches going out and if you haven't received an e-mail yet, just be patient. :)

Can we have an update when all the emails have been sent, so we know when to panic, and when not to? :D

For now, I'll just keep my towel near me so I won't panic.

Thanks Island Dog, I did, because although I did receive the email for the beta, there's nothing listed at all at my account... and I got the email on a different adress. Something is not right, and I want my disease!

When you login to the stardock store, use the same email address you used to login to impulse.

Is this statement correct?  Its not those who "pre-ordered" in 2010?

I think everyone who preordered WoM get beta access tomorrow. Everyone who bought it in 2010 after release will have access eventually.

Hey buddy, its staggered.  So if you pre-ordered, you will get in the beta on the 19th.  if you didn't pre-order, but purchased the game in 2010, you will get in beta a week after that.

Oh I c.  Pardon, was just getting excited, thought I might be in the early one!

I need to get more sleep...

If you don't get an email, but did pre-order, will you get beta access the same time as everyone else, or is the disease I'm getting Stardocklostmyinfoitis?  ^_^

I think I pre-ordered the game by about 2 days, but still haven't received an email. Any chance i'll be in the first round? or will I have to wait a week?

I've seen this come up in the forums, and I anticipate it coming up in my conversations with friends and family...

Are there any plans to allow newcomers to pre-order FE and join the beta?

I preordered by only a few days and I got my email. Yours probably is just being sent in a later batch. If you didn't get it before 3pm EST tomorrow, then start worrying about that. Until then, it's probably pretty safe to assume it's coming.

Downloads are supposed to go live at 3pm today.

Brad said in another thread that the emails don't really matter.  If you are supposed to get the beta today based on date of purchase, then it'll show up in your downloads on stardock.com at the same times as everyone else's  regardless of whether or not you got the email.

Quoting Frogboy, reply 37
You don't need the email if you're here already.

The beta gets added to your account automatically. You don't have to do anything.

If you have any questions, just go to the download.stardock.com page and check your WOM data.

You said it SciFi1950!!!---first freaking thing I thought of was a spell of agonizing anticipation cast by the evil Empress Carly Simon. I'm sure i screwed up by buying WoM at Best Buy the day it came out v. pre-order. Guess I'll play Skyrim until I get my e-mail. I feel like Jesse Eisenberg at the end of The Social Network repeatedly hitting refresh awaiting a response.

Ahhhh, i think i didn´t pre-order, that explains why i can´t download the beta, :hugme: the e-mail gives me hope. Well, i´ll just w8 till the download appears in my account. You lucky ***** have fun.

AFAIK, if you pre-ordered, ie. purchased WoM *before* the day it was released, then you get on the first boat.  Otherwise, if you bought it on release by the end of 2010, you get on the second boat a week later. =)
