The REAL Chatroom

The REAL Chatroom

Or alternative Chatroom

Ok, so I decided to create a new Chatroom, because the old one was getting pretty....old!  ;P

Everyone may post here, as well as in the good'ol Flameroom...I mean, Chatroom *_*

I would like to keep this Chatroom civilized. Well, as civilized as most forum threads are (doesnt mean that you all have to be polite like Oatesy, lol).

So for this reason, I may update the OP of this thread in the future, posting certain thread rules, as I see fit.

For now though, post away, and everyone is welcome! :)

So...

You know, my life-plan is really beginning to look like it will go one of two ways.
End of Oatesy03's quote

Esplain. What two ways will it be?

First off, I've read all of your fanfic, and can only say... Please write more :)

Anyway, Plan One: Go to University, probably in Britain or the US, get a degree, join British Army as an Officer and proceed from there.

Plan Two: Go to University, probably in the US, get my degree, join US Army (as an enlisted, seeing as I won't have citizenship) and proceed from there.

Yeah. That's it. And yes, I know I've built an image of being a fanatical Brit, but I really do love America just as much as this country.

Well, on the first count, WRT my fic, thank you for liking it. Tuesdays are update day, and this Tuesday will be Chapter 3: Comm Tap. It'll (probably) be a bit longer than Chapter 2, but it'll also be a bit more plot. Though there will be some action, and even interaction.

Just a heads-up, I'm also working on another crossover, this time SW/40K. I'll give you the title: Flight of the Eisenstein, and the fact that it doesn't concern the Eisenstein of Horus Heresy-era fame. It's a later ship.

On the second count, WRT your plans, I think you should come to America to get a degree. Because then you might end up attending university at a college in the LA-area, and we might actually meet in person. Interesting prospect, innit?

It's a strange thing looking at military prospects in those two plans though.

I'd be expected to be an officer in the British Army, seeing as I should be getting top grades across the board at secondary school, and am expected to go to an Oxford standard Uni. However, if I stayed in the US after Uni (with a green card of course), then I would join the US army as a private. I know I'd be able to get my citizenship through that route, but what would happen then? If one is successful as an enlisted would you be sent off to officer school?

I'm not sure about that. I know that my dad was once a candidate for the Warrant Officer program, so I think that it's possible for an enlisted person to be nominated into an officer's program. OTOH, I've really got no idea, and that's also specific to the USMC, so take it with a grain of salt.

I believe you can move up if you wish. It would fit the rest of the concept of what it means to live in The United States of America. The right to change you status.

So, question. Who here gets the impression that Germany really nailed some of the aesthetic design qualities with their weapons in WW2? Primarily in the form of the MG(whichever one) and FG42, imo.

I rather liked the MG-series. TBH, I much prefer postwar German weapons designs, as that allows for the G36. Which is an epictastic awesomeness gun.

Don't start that again! -the vultures from Disney's The Jungle Book

I think the quote applies quite well here.

New Topic: Self-Insert Fan Fiction- Love it Or Hate it?

My opinion: done well, it can be a pretty good read. However, reading poorly-written/-made/-done "SI FF" has been conclusively proven to cause the following side effects:

RAAEG
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Spontaneous Neckbeard Growth
Spontaneous Usage of /tg/ Vernacular
Trolling
Flaming
Desiring to inflict serious bodily harm upon the author of the work in question

Other effects have been seen, such as trektardism, various forms of wankism, and still more. However, causes of these side effects have not yet been discovered/conclusively determined.

I just started reading it, and am not done yet, but it does seem too have a lot of viewpoints

Well, the relatively large number of different character's perspectives is to illustrate different opinions and thoughts. My biggest fear with this fic is not getting some of the more famous ST characters right, like Major Kira, The USS Enterprise's crew, and that horrible twit Janeway.

No, I agree, dead.

Morph has killed it by leaving.

Seriously, Whiskey, Nilles, and Oatesy were the only ones posting.  I was ghosting, but didn't have anything to say so did not post.

Ha Twilight I have a Bunk bed that you can't go under so  , but Oatsey is right

I also note that Twilight wouldn't fit under my bed, as it has a bunch of stuff under it.

Seems Whiskey's been doing some counter-stalking; he now knows the exact physical dimensions of Storm.

Well my bottom bunk is on the floor so Twilight better not be able to fit or then i would be o_O

No; it's just there's so much (relative) crap under my bed that I wouldn't fit, and I'm about 5'4"/5'4.5". And skinny.

And I was going to put something about my looks and the liking the ladies have for me but decided not to.

I'm taller than Whiskey   but, you probably outweigh me XO

on a side note I'm slowly reading your fanfic, its not the most interesting since I don't know much about the topic, but it is very good so far.

Keep up the good work

Don't bet on the outweighing bit. I'm of a fairly slim build, though I could probably beat the tar out of you (Tae Kwon Do training comes in handy there....... plus fighting dirty).

WRT the fic, the good work will keep coming.

I'm considering taking up parkour. There's a group who meet in a nearby city, so that would be perfect. Of course, it's not definite, but I think it would be an interesting discipline to develop.

IMO, parkour is one of the coolest things evar. Yes, I said EVAR.

I wish I could do it, but the locale I currently reside in is very unreceptive to the discipline. It doesn't help that I don't know the area well enough to not get lost whilst attempting to do it.

This.

I will say more, but not now.

Interesting video, though I can tell you that I will not be buying it. Activision has shafted PC gamers one too many times, what with the Black Ops fiasco.

However, I now raise you one Battlefield 3 video:

Your response?
