k, so the concept was to get as far away from the last theme I did as possible and still be able to skin Win 7 completely and correctly.

 

I also wanted to make a red and black theme that took advantage of the dramatic contrasts that this color combo can achieve.

 

Devilish, menacing, provokative, I dunno.. thats what is running through my head as I throw this PS mockup together.

 

I suppose X-( I will be doing a light and dark windows version as I dont see anyway around it...

 

...so this one may take a while to complete but here it is in it early.. fluid stage.

 

Oh and I may just keep the small branding text... cos I know :snowman: would approve  ;)

Judged from the SS only, I (so far) like this WB -alot-.
(Had a bit of fun too, and made a RightClick from the SS - for personal use)

Although I hate to admit it.....
I might just have to consider the possibility that I may have to think about possibly consider thinking about buying it... -maybe-

Special folder images I pen-tooled for XP, I also may make different images to drop in the folder to replace plain start menu places panel.

the Red Belly Black snake...  (plenty of these down at our farm...very beautiful)

the Australian Box Jellyfish.... (good reason to head for the swimming pool)

and the Chilean Chocolate Scorpion..... o_O   yes...there is a species called the Chilean Chocolate scorpion...

Just a dumb thought, John....how would a slight red (Venom Red) backglow look behind the special folder icons?

They are pretty much faded on purpose, if too prominent they can be distracting while looking \ sorting thru folders. May end up more faded than this even. Any glow would just get lost, would not look good.. faded, would not match rest of red in theme.

One last thing, there is more glow in this thing than Hell already, rest assured }:)

 

In between going to the track and field end of school season banquet at which my youngest won dual MVP awards from the kids and coaches vote.. and training him to go to state in May running the mile and 800 5 days a week, I am slowly but surely.. getting this done..

Had to lose the taper on the separator and the systray only looks good in a popup stretched vertically, but otherwise I think it came out okay.......... :)

.....and if a certain Redneck remembers Me saying, You can't stretch and tile RC in the same direction at the same time .........I was wrong, I learned some new tricks, and CCF is back on My list again! ;)

Every night I read this thread just to catch up with what John is doing and what everyone else is contributing. It's a great read and I saw a nice touch from Snowy. Above all, it looks like a fantastic skin with many good add-ons from various artists.|-)

Thx Leo, and fred, looking fab mate, altho, the final mouse over is lighter than that, I'll post a screen of the menu shortly.. I'm sure you can fix it up once I finalize everything.
