We’re not kidding about the “Limited” aspect of this. We’re currently only planning to authorize the production of 10,000 of these. But for those of you who, like me, miss the “old days” of Ultima IV and such when games came with big maps, cloth maps and other goodies, here you go.[more]

Sign me up! 200+ page manual, cloth map poster and dragon! What a deal!

You should make a +$40 package to include Destiny's Embers.

Yes, that sounds fair, naturally i meant with a higher price range...

or maybe you could call it 'Ember Edition' - and have 1,000 copies of it made ;P

So is the regular manual a dummed down version of the LE manual?

ie:   Regular manual -  Shards :  Shards are good.  You want them.

Limited Edition -    Shards :  Shards (the base of magic in EWoM) are vital to all aspects of the game.  The RNG places shards at coordinates Z,Y,Z (which can me manipulated by following the formula on P.199) and can be harvested in 7 unique ways (2 require a special set of keystrokes when your clock reads 1:24 AM PST)

WOuld it be available in stores, or we need to order it online.

For the box, since you have so much good artwork in your game, I strongly suggest you put some artwork on the cover.

I can you supply a map of the world if it is randomly generated every game.

I just hope shipping costs for europe (france) won't be too high. When will we be able to "upgrade" our pre-order ?
Unless France gets special treatment in shipping, it's about $20 for Europe (out of USA in general?).

Sorry bro. For that you need the prerequisite technologys "Awesome Game Production", "Better Than The Stinkin Wheel" and "Advanced Mechanics Design".

I would suggest going down the "Advanced Time Managment" to get a bouns for planning.

Just to clarify this (I don't have Impulse or just about anything installed at the moment); Can I (as a beta tester, even if I don't have as much time to actually do anything constructive these days) load Impulse up right now, and there'll be an upgrade option somewhere?

Because I could totally pre-order one of those, right bloody now.

Yes.

Install impulse. In options check "show pre-release version", then check "my games" or "updates" tab.

EDIT: if you have pre-ordered.

I'm not the biggest fan of limited special editions.

Just don't go around making half-a-dozen different versions, all with different content.

What, your not going to buy the Super Limited Edition which comes with a wizzards hat or a Super Duper Limited Version which comes with a real dragon*?

*Dragon Subject to and in compliance with local law in your area. Does not contain nuts (they are all female to prevent breeding).

@larienna

1.  I was thinking one of the Fallen.  It would be half man, half frog.  He would be sitting on a couch hugging a pillow.  On one side of the couch would be a blanket.  At his feet would be a fishbowl.  They could use the caption, "It worked in Theory."

2.  It is probably based off the map they use for the story version.

What's the size of the dragon? The picture makes it look quite large, but the rook we got with Demigod was tiny.

I want mine for sure.

Just let me know where I can click and I am clicking!!!

I will have dreams of this tonight I am sure!!

You really must start publishing in Europe, Frogboy. I love you guys, love this LE but darn it all I do feel second class customer having to ship it in at greater cost!

What's the process going to be to upgrade the order, when that is available?

I have complained and complained about the lack of cloth maps, real printed manuals, and doo-dads in games these days.  For me to miss out on this would be a sin that I cannot be forgiven of.

Continue to be awesome Brad and Stardock!!! :D

How do i upgrade? ;) Id prefear to upgrade as fast as i can, since the limit thing.

how do those of us who already have a pre-order change to this edition? i know its gonna cost a bit more posting to UK, but now its got all these bonuses its actually worth getting a physical copy (well i think so anyhoo)

Agreed; I was expecting the boxed edition to be the digital download edition on a CD.  I totally miss the manual-and-map days and would love the upgrade (although concidentally, I'm moving FROM the UK in Sep 2010, so getting it to the right place may be dicey).

Only if you complet successfully a quest, sir.

And the quest is to collect all 10 Dwagons.

10 Dwagons gets you 1 Dragon!

If you want a coloured Dragon, say a Purple Dragon you need to collect 10 Dragons.

Then you can have a Dragon with a mount! .... but you need to collect 10 Coloured Dragons of that Colour to get it.

So... get Dwagoning!

On a lighter note, I can't decide if I want to buy it.

The problem is that I dislike the box. It reminds me of Black and White too much.

I want the normal box. But I also want the LIMITED EDITION on the box... :( WHY BRAD?!? WHY?!?

Dear Stardock,

is the Collector's Edition still an option for those that want something more than the Normal Edition and happen to not get the Limited Edition? It's gone?

"Elemental for dummies"* awaits your reply!

Thank you for your time.

|-)

PS Limited Edition for me unless 10.000 people trample me. Plotting to get a Normal edition for extra cute cover of epic awe.

* and probably other people too
