Show off your Sins model (pick a page)

Think of this thread as something similar to conceptships.blogspot.com for the Sins community. Basically, a way for the community to share what they have created whether it makes it into a mod or not.

At a minimum post a screen shot of your model in blender, xsi, 3d object converter, etc or in game. If you have a name for your ship or story behind it, even better.

We are looking forward to seeing what you have created! :)

From the beginning of this thread IskatuMesk has wow'd us with his models and ultimately released a video of his creations in Sins of a Solar Empire. This particular model was my favorite in the beginning and still stands out.

SivCorp looking to stretch new ideas from existing models managed to create several menancing models including the fantastic Vasari version seen here: (Vasari Flagship Sonar Kal'd used in the Distant Stars Mod)

Yes, I'm working on my own style/process for texturing the ships. Mainly I paint the ships with the main colors and then dirty them up with a hull pattern material that applies some depth to the ship as well

Yeah, That's pretty much what I do.

Here is a material/texture I made from some of the original Sins textures, that you and the community may find of some use. Panel texture

XSI is whats needed to finalize the model prior to exporting into Sins. If your dad will let you it's pretty simply once you get the process down. The XSI mod tool from softimage is free too. Read the soaseweebly link at the top for more details.

I will send you the mesh and textures when I get an opportunity so you can see it in the game. It just will do a few funky things without the null points for weapons or hangar, etc (see the link above).

:rofl:   SO the EVE developers lost some creative juices and now are turning to the player community to help make new ships :P If I still played I'd consider it... I got sick of the chess game like mechanics of the battles in EVE

The specular and reflection are a bit off cuz I was playing with texture sizes but I liked see EternalRequiem's model in the game :)  The textures applied are only some trial runs too just see what might or might not look good.

absolutely fantastic, that model is even more fitting inside a game then it appears to look in a modeling program... the beauty is so fitting... can't believe I made that model xD can't wait to see what it looks like with a complete texture skin on it...  :drool: all the shiny parts that'll be a part of the hull. Hope you managed to get those other two models I sent earlier so you could look at them btw. Overall... KEEP up the good work :D

I still need to add the weapon banks and other details, then textures.  I may use it in my games as a replacement for the kodiak (cause the little tank is a bit boring)

Nice, can I use it when your done. I have 3 more races I need models for. Even if not I can do the mesh points and tangents when you want it in game.

Here's a new model I worked on recently, I'm actually making it for an X3TC mod but that doesn't mean it can't be used here now does it? :P It's a fighter model I'm working on still but it's practically done... except for a noticeable cockpit and weapons. 

 

this model hasn't been smoothed down and is in the low poly stages of making, it was also based off an anime alien fighter from a series I am not familiar with

Hey Zombies, Those red particle effects are they weapons/ability effects or have you made up some different flair points. They look pretty cool.

@myfist - Sure!  I'm thinking of making a TEC faction... So yeah, you can use the models I come up with. 

I've got a whole hammerhead series of ships knocking around in my brain....

 

Just be sure to credit me in the readme ^_^

Here are some XSI shots of a new model for Anubis' Superweapon ship from the Stargate that I'm currently working on:

Ignore the triangle count in the display.  I'm rebuilding the model from scratch based off of a 140k triangle original I found on Sci-Fi meshes.  Using the original just wasn't feasible as it was going to be way too much trouble to try and poly-reduce it so instead I'm using it as a geometry reference and generating the ship from entirely new objects.  I've got about 90% of the detail replicated I figure and my triangle count so far is a little over 10,000.  I'm not quite done yet, but I'm down to just the little fiddly detail bits.  The ship is about 1000m in radius, to give you an idea of the scale of the model.  I'm very pleased with my results so far.

Unfortunately I don't know how to create particle effects. That one is actually the Akkan targetting uplink if I remember right. I've decided I have enough on my plate thate I won't mess around with making particle effects. I will be repurposing many of the existing effects and using some effects Syneptus has made.

Righto ppl here's another model I worked on, it's one of my older models that I finally opened up again and did some work on. Expect to see this in ZombiesRus5 Sins of the Fallen mod :P This is my Starbase model poly count is high but then again it can be reduced while keeping the structure and shape intact :D
