Did you nicely ask them to decloak?

They should not be cloaked indefinitely, keep some ships in range.

What faction are you playing as? I know the feds have a decloak ability if you can find it  :P .

 

Wait for psychoak, as he is the ability master that wrote the cloak and their counters.

Borg, jammer planetary module.

Dominion, Anti-Proton beam on the Virulent, as well as Energy Dissipator.

Federation, decloak ability on the Nova.

Klingons, Graviton abilities, Pulse on the B'rel as well as the mines.

Romulans, Black Vortex on the D'Verix.

Oh wise and easily irritated psychoak hear my humble plea: I am playing Federation, I have many of these "Nova" of which you decree that I must posess, I have used their mighty abilities as you have proscribed, still my cloaked adversaries, who I seek to smite in your name doth still evade mine gaze.

Oh terrible and mighty myfist0, keeper of stats presented handsomely in spreadsheet form and unparalleled crafter of domes, I have done as you asked.  I have sat with my entire late game fleet waiting for my enemy to make themselves vulnerable but alas they have not read this forum and refuse to uncloak.

Ah yes, the product of my being clever without really considering the ramifications...

 

That would be a bug, relatively hard to trigger, but still there.

 

It's fixed in the development version, but in the current public release, the AI cloak can get stuck on if it triggers and stops instantaneously.

 

The counters work off the existence of BuffCloakCommon, but they remove the individual cloaking files.  The individual cloaking files are what apply and remove BuffCloakCommon.  Alas, the tard game can fire the OnBuffFinish action removing it before the instant action creating it actually gets it created.

 

On the plus side, those ships are well and truly fucked.  The AI can't uncloak them either.  If you're playing in Dev, you can delete them.  Otherwise just ignore them and kill the side.

You are just and your word law.  First I will ignore them.  I will have parties and not invite them.  I will have gum but only enough for a small clique of popular kids.  My enemies will secretly burn inside from their anguish.  

Then and only then as they feel the pangs of social isolation will I erase their memories from the stars themselves.

Here's the thing; I was happy but now I am not.  I was happy staring at the Miranda.  Making Mirandas.  Shooting things with Mirandas.  Baking Miranda shaped cookies.  But then the Maquis raided and I've never been quite the same.

Hello again myfist0, I come with good and bad news.

The good news is that I have a new computer and now have Rebellion.

 

The bad news is that I found a graphic bug in the Rebellion mod as shown below.

The other bit of bad news is that I do not have a save file but the map I used was the Huge Ring Map.

Not really bad news to me  :-"

We only really need save files to reproduce a crash or other bad errors. These types of errors only require a description or screen shots, so what you gave me was perfect.

k1  for taking the effort to report it to us. I will look for it now. I did just find and fix a pile of errors for the Gas2 (blue giants) which will be in the next release.

The next release will be another full download and replace as we have a new sound engineer, Mike, and we redid the entire sound folder. Music will stay as is for now, but he is working on the voices and some sound fx.

 

Edit: Fixed for next release  :P

No. Best way to keep informed is to sign up to modDB and go to our reb page and hit "Watch this Mod" and you will be messaged when we make changes to everything except comments.

 Edit: or, PM with your contact details, email and if possible skype, and become a bEta tester. You can get updates as soon as a team member commits their work.

Cause of some wishes to play with titans I made an Add On for SOA2 with also other modifications like changing the balance, new models and could offer it for download. I wanted to ask is it ok for you?

No thanks.

It will end up being something we will be constantly pestered over and we are not that kind of mod. We are already getting bugged way to mush over titans. If people want cheeseball titans they can play Armada 3 when it comes out.

No it will be not like titans of the original game. Hero ships which are not more powerfull then the battleships of each races. They have all their unique powers. I changed anyway the balance of game and add alot of new things.

It is not real titans but heroes or leader of each races with special powers.

Century class,

Prometheus for Federation

Borg Queen and Borg Fusion Cube for Borg race

Nethak and NeghVar for Klingon race etc.

I have retired from the project a while ago so i really have no more say in the decision making process. However, My opinion is that Titans, and Trek don't mix. Sure you have seen the "ubership" of the week in the shows Like the Prometheus, Scimitar, Voyager (i would consider Voyager an "ubership" because of the impossible feats it pulled off). The thing is then SoA 2 would become a race to whoever builds the first "ubership" wins. Basically the same as Sins or Total Annihilation (if you remember the Krogoths).

Then we have the issue now of where we can make SoA 2 an actual "Trek Mod". Not just Trek Ships inside of the Sins engine. For example many of the hard code limitations have been lifted over the years. Before in the early builds we had to make ships behave almost exactly like the Original Sins ships they replaced. We no longer have to do that.

Basically now we do not have to follow the "Sins" pattern any more. We do not "need" titans. I seen good ideas about "hero" ships. However that is what the "elite" units are. Hero ships.

It is interesting that when the early builds of SoA 2 came out most complained that it played "too much like sins". Now we have the opposite.

Awesome. Always excited for a new release.

 

I don't think the mod team should need to apologize for the decisions they have made in regards to SOA. This is a kick-ass game and if a few dissenters (Gepard) don't like it but 90% of the gamers love the game, you guys are doing something right.

Who the hell are you people?  Are you magicians?  How have you made so many model improvements?  They were excellent before, now they're outrageous!  You have even improved the sound.  The death animations of the ships are crazy good.  The weapons fire (the sound of the weapons fire) the planets the weird little groups of minor races the Gorn Scout ship model.  !!!!!!!!!!!!  

(runs in circles)  AAAAAUAUGUAUGH!!!!!

 

My head is exploding from the shear improvement and awesomeness.  

 

How did you make this many updates in such a short amount of time?  

 

There needs to be a special category created that acknowledges your work.  Then it needs to be retired.  Immediately.

I agree that adding titans to SOA2 would crash the balance which makes the gameplay to create the first titan to beat others and I hate this. That is why I made hero ships not powerfull that they will crash the balance of game. There are just unique ships with leaders of the empires or special individuals. Like Borg Queen. This model I used for hero ship and when you will see it it will be the queen whit her original voice. The same for other hero ships.

It will never play like sins.

In SOA2 Dominion empire is the weakest. But as you know all Alpha quadrant belongs Dominion and if they would be so weak they woould never be able to bring order to Alpha quadrant. That is why I changed also the balance to make Dominion as powerfull as Borg. I put also voices to Dominion race and new models. There is no sin model anymore all original stations for each race.

The same for npc's. For example is for sona starships you can find real sona ships not sin models anymore.

There is also new option came with version 1.80 "isMadVasariPlayer". When you make npcs ismadVasariPlayer they will travel through the galaxis and attack ships. This option I took to make NPCs like pirates travel around galaxis and making troubles, stealing recources. I add andorian and other races also vulcan who will protect their homeland.

I changed also mechanics. Polaron beams which will penetrate shields, ablativ armor which protects hull without regenaration and cloaking device which will be used before getting destroyes. That ships can escape from fight unseen. All weapons and powers from star trek movies nothing to do with sins. You can take a look how it plays if I will be ready with it.

It will look like this.

As you can see it is not so hard to kill hero ships. It gives the game only more strategic options and adds some missing ships like prometheus, kerchan class starship, unique borg queen, very rare seen Tenak'talar class ship, the most powerfull weapon of borgs fusion cube etc.

This will not crash the balance. For that I worked hard anyway not to make one race overpowered. I wouldn't like it myself if that would be a problem.
