As the guy who started this mess, I want to add that i've played the game about 2 months, read the forums way too much, and am surprised that the 'turn the gold flag on cataract' is considered an exploit. Everybody can do it. No spending 5500, or 12000 gold to buy the ability.
Erebus can cost you a ton of money to counter on Crucible. You have to carry scrolls to port back to kick him out of your base. He batstorms in, you spend $250, he batstorms out, you have a 45 sec cooldown to get back into the fight. Then he batstorms back in, and you better have a pard ready to waste his time and money to kick him out. If you don't kick him out quickly, he spawns his minions inside your base, takes down every tower you have, caps the flag, and it's game over, man.
Then the gold flags. He's only seconds from his base to the gold with the batswarm. Nobody else can port there without expensive trinket/artifact unless they already hold the flag.
I hadn't read about this or seen it posted about in that last several weeks, and i apologize if i'm covering old ground. There are some players newer than me, or who only occasionally play Crucible that may still have this surprise coming. But when I was chasing that bastage Erebus with my beast, with him close to the death that he deserved, and he batswarmed across to his base..............................................
