Ideas for a Community Theme Project - Holiday Edition

I have been wanting to help organize a new community theme project for quite a while.  With the holidays rapidly approaching, and the fact that Christmas is one of the most popular skinning holidays, I would like to propose a community project around that.

What do you say?

My idea, subject to further input from the community.

Christmas/Winter Holiday Theme Pack

This would include at the minimum:

  • WindowBlinds theme
  • DesktopX Theme
  • DesktopX Gadgets
  • CursorFX theme
  • Dreams
  • RightClick Skins
  • Icons (IP or just some dock icons)
  • Wallpapers

At the end this would all be wrapped up in a Theme Manager suite.

My thought is a minimal-type theme that will appeal to a broad range of people, yet have a big influence of holiday colors or design. 

What we need?

I need a Project Manager who will help coordinate skinners and their activities.

We also need ideas for a unique name plus design ideas.

September 28th Update:

Here is the current list of people who have signed up to participate.  Aside from the WindowBlinds theme as we want to keep it consistent, several people can create themes of the same type as long as they stay within the theme.

OK, here is what I have so far.

I tried to keep it a bit 'minimal-type', per ID's suggestion. Is it too minimal? should I round the corners or leave the squared? Is it too light? 

Pick it apart, make suggestions, tell me what you want to see.

Thats a great start Ziandi, if u dont mind a couple of critiques, I'd say is try silver up the silver bits.. a bit..brighter highlights, Silver is quite shiny, especially being sounded by white\light... and I might throw more ornaments around the start menu..they look a little lonely and sorta misplaced thus far.Heck, perhaps even try to add some small glints, gleams to the gold too.. it's surprising how much more life that will bring.

Looking good so far, Cyn. It reminds me of Christmas cards w/ embossed gold bits, so corners look good.

I agree with V; The metallic bits need to sparkle. I think the minimal ornaments are good, maybe need to be arranged more evenly. The overall concept is solid, IMO. Just needs more punch and sparkle. I know you can pull it off, though. :thumbsup:

Also, maybe some metallic green and red highlights? Too much would over do it, but just a bit would add some life!

Looking good Xiandi :thumbsup:   But i have to agree with vStyler. The start menu ornaments are looking a little bit lonely. I don't know but maybe some gold corners around the start menu would make them look better.

Oh and definitely needs some sparkles :thumbsup:
