I got to do a few days with a Belgiun unit during a Reforger... they were a riot!!!! Bunch of partying freaks off duty, but very scary on duty... it was an honor working with them!
You'll have fun, and who knows, maybe by the time you get back this will be done...

Yes Cardassia and the dominion are one playable race
This mod is set during the Dominion War of which I'm currently having a marathon of (Seasons 5-7 DS9)
At this time, Cardassia is not a sovereign entity, they are just a member of the Dominion, and they contribute what ships and troops the founders want to supplement the Dominion's own fleet.
The mods timeline is after the events of nemesis, but before the events of Star Trek XI aka the reboot. The Dominion violate the ceasefire, and pour through the wormhole like a tidal wave. Reconquering, and enslaving Cardassia. Deep Space 9 is destroyed. The Cardassians are now nothing more than battle thralls, and canon fodder. The Breen were more than happy to re-unite with thier old allies. The relations between the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans are not as cozy as they once were. Petty mistrusts, and rivalries fragment the alliances. Each empire is capable of handling the new dominion threat alone. The fedration is fighting for its right to exist. The Klingons are fighting for honor, and glory. The Romulans are fighting because they must. The Dominion are playing the "lets you, and him fight" game.
Meanwhile the Borg transwarp hub was not as badly damaged as previously thought. The Borg now view the Alpha Quadrant factions thier most serious threat to the collective. Assimilation is no longer relevent. There will be only Annihilation.
The Alpha, and Beta quadrants are in a state of total war.
This prologue will be refined, and fleshed out later when i have more time.
^^ Oh, this sounds great! I didn't think the mod was originally planned for the timeline after Nemesis, but I'm excited to hear that. Could it possibly mean some of the newer classes of Starfleet ships, like the Norway, Saber, and Nova will make an apperance?

Wait... why not give the Borg the ability to assimilate ships???
I know some mods let pirates hijack ships... and the Star Wars Requium Mod has a capital ship ability to board and seize a ship... it's sort of the same thing, isn't it???
Quite honestly I'm not concerned when it takes place... although I like that your doing a storyline...

Hey there! Sorry if I missed these elsewhere, but I have a few annoying questions ^__^
- what races will be playable when you release the mod?
- which are balanced to play against each other?
- is it able to play with computer players as some of the new races?
- what kind of ship lists are we looking at?
- are the starbases cool? which starbases are each of the races using?
The mod is looking great guys, and those video's are hot! I'm very excited to give this a go!
In the Intial release we will have the FEDERATION, AND KLINGONS, We have the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Dominion and the Borg currenlty planned.
All races will be able to play either against human players or AI

Glad to hear we'll see the mod this month though, I can't wait to whoop me some ridge heads!
Is there anything I can do to help out with the other factions? I've been playing around with mesh models, textures, particle effects, and entity files over the past month (including adding some new ships to the mix), so I've got a pretty good understanding of how everything works if you guys need an extra hand.
Well, they said after they release this version with the Federation and Klingons they would be accepting contributions from the community - Abilities, Research, Music, Artwork/ Effects and maybe even ships - As long as it was in mod format (packaged ready to enable in the mod section) so they could test it out to see if it fits. That would be a good time to show your ideas on any of the above. I think this is quite good as I'm sure lots of people will have interesting ideas that could be utilised to add to this wonderful mod. We will have to just see, once this version is released, what is already in place and what could be added.
That's true, but I was thinking for some reason that the other factions wouldn't be included since they aren't ready at the moment. I suppose it makes sense for them to include all of the files if that's their plan. Either way, I'm just interested in helping the team get everything in order for a full release. ![]()

hes right you knwo there is a empire ship that can board and tek ove the enemy ship. i think that you just got to include it. the borg arnt stupid they no they got to isimulate some they cant just anilate them all, the'd die
The short and succinct reply is: No.
No... that's it... no? No explanation, or anything? Why not??? I thought the point of this Mod was attention to detail and accuracy. If the Borg can't assimiliate anything, which was their greatest stregnth, then what's the purpose of having them at all? I mean yes, it would make them even more powerful... but again, they're supposed to be powerful; damn near indistructable.
Guess it doesn't matter to me one way or another... I'm adding it into my copy as soon as the mod is finished. But it seems you're ignoring a very critical aspect of the Borg. If the Borg want it, they TAKE it.
Ok the borg wont be in the first release
Yes the borg will have assimilation (in many forms ranging from start to end game <insert evil laugh here at end game comment> not 100% decided on yet but we have ideas) as stress said assimilation is not the primary goal now its secondary the total destruction of all alpha quadrant life is the primary goal !
Please refrane from posting stuff about the borg once the first release is out Stick to feds / klinks only please !

Loki, OK bro... that's cool. I'm glad your addressing the "assimilation" ability in some form. It just seemed kinda weird to not have anything, even if they're bent on just destruction.
And you know I'm not posting anything else about the Borg... remember our conversation a couple months back??? I've kept my mouth clamped shut, just like I promised you I would!
