I challenge you to find a country that puts on as many airs about being a meritocracy as America does.

I'm not saying it's not the current trend, but when England was the world power, they did it quite a bit. They simply didn't have the technology to throw it out there as easily. Just wait and see whoever becomes the next major power and watch them do the same. Who knows, they might have some form of media even MORE powerful.
