New Star Trek Theme............

New Star Trek Theme............

Saw this on TSF today...........For all you Trekkies out there..........Don't turn this into a Hyperdesk 'bashing' thread, please. We went through that little immature debacle a few months ago. Just admire the creativity and even if you don't use Hyperdesk just admire the art work, cool icons and there's a free media player remote too.

Looks like jewels gone wild.

Blame Trek creators then...thats what they designed in the 60's man. :fuzzy:

I wasnt too crazy about them at first then I realised where they came from and I changed my mind.(authenticity)

Yep. A real Trekker would know those are the triangular buttons from many console panels. The only difference is ours uses the 3 division colors so they work with each theme and they're more saturated.

If our skins come to WC. Brad seems into the idea, but it's up to WC. I'm not sure how much support there will be for us to participate like that. We'll see. If we get the word, we'll start almost immediately.

I'm pleased to see there are some positive vibes about TSF skins coming back to WC.... it sounds promising.

I don't think it'll come down to IF, though!   You do quality work and I'm sure there are more than enough discerning customisers here who will jump at the chance to use/enjoy your themes.

Oh, and welcome back to WC, I'm pleased about that... and under your old account, too.  :) :)

Hey, this thread is back on topic. How did that happen?

I don't care how it happened, I'm just glad it is.  Thanks to all who helped make this happen. :)

Jesh, you should use throboff to get rid of those awful microsoft throbber flags in your screenshots...its really just some reg settings and are completely reversible with a click but it makes a window look WAY nicer.

works perfectly for all XP versions...dont think vista has one.

It might reset the toolbar layout but that only takes a click or two to set back

Throbbing ....please wait.

Hey Erk, do you think it's a good idea to expose your throbber like that?

You know Bichur has a thing for 'working' throbbers. :-"

Uh oh! Here we go again!

Yeah, and I got unwittingly sucked in again. O:)

The topic 'throbber' has been here nearly a day and still no sign of the troll :troll:

Give him time.... playing with his own throbber will obviously take priority. :-"

Maybe he had his removed?

>_> I have nothing to say on the subject... But... Ummm..... I don't know.... Lengthy discussions about throbbers seem more appropriate on some other site. And since the subject possibly could be interpreted to break forum rules, I'd say he's quite wise to hush up about it... :P

That was a really funny thread.

*Ahem* Back to the topic.

By todays standards and on modern TV sets the effects/creations on Star Trek TOS look somewhat cheesy to say the least. For those of us that couldn't get enough of it back then though,it was oh-so-cool. Remaining true to the original look as much as possible will be part of the appeal of the theme, imo.

Absolutely. The effects. individually were even hokey back then...but TOS was a 'whole' (gestalt)  and much more than the sum of it's parts.

I, for one, am looking forward to what some skinners can do with BSG (modern one). :)  Betcha TSF does a knockout job on BSG when they get the time.
