Show off your ship designs 2009

Show off your ship designs 2009

All the ship designs you can think of!

In 2007 i created 2 fleets after getting inspired by too many ship designers to list them all here) - one for the Terrans and one for the Altarians.

In 2008 i followed the Ship Design Thread again with great interest, but was not able to participate because of r/l.

Now a new year has started. I think it's time to start a new thread where this year you and i all can show the ship designs we created.

It doesn't matter if they were done with Dread Lords, Dark Avatar or even with Twilight of the Arnor. Just show what you think you like to show.

i meant the ship.

I know, but when I posted the screenshot to Paint, It apparently filled in only a corner, because the default size for pictures in that program is impractically huge.

Friends, all your ships are marvellous!

Can you post a link to your templates? I'd love to enjoy your ships in my games!

While I fully realize that I said I would post ships and haven't, but I have been quite busy lately and have been unable to get said ships posted. I have 3 new ships and another that is a modified version of an older design that I already posted in last years ship designs thread. I will try to have them up on here by the end of the week. Nice designs all and it is truely great to see Wing Commander ships present. I tried my hand at a few but felt they failed, yours look very much like to original ships, good job!!!!!

Nice Mzuz, it looks like a killer battleship. Nice engine configuration, has con towers on top and bottom, many spots to place weapons, and the main hull extends forward. Cool design!

Ok...got 2 more

First is a medium hull, Agros class destroyer.

The second is the slight redisgn of an older, already posted design. Small hull, Aphid class fighter

An older design, the Thor class. This is my main battleship for the Earth Federation.

And here's the Dagger class, my front-line destroyer:

Great looking ships everyone!

Mzuz: outstanding!  Those designs reminded me of all the fun of making my old ones.

So I dusted off GC and updated it and now realize that they must have limited the number of parts again because most of my old designs are busted.

I guess that gives me a good starting place.

I look forward tp posting new ships soon!

Might as well put two of the X-Worlds "test versions" designs i am currently developping with the Shipyard panels on the left with supplemental jewels & components...

No engines, no weapons or defenses yet... but considering my mod has a whopping 39 races to work with and that i intend to have some unique fleet styles for EACH while shuffling a mix-match number of many different ships between Aliens & Humans and keeping the original X-Com source models as close as possible -- the above is a very small sampling attempt!

(PS; Actually, there are some backported structures & elements from TA and i already gave the Sensors & Ranges items distinctive thumbnails to clearly identify anything short of having any sort of incode tag fields that would allow us to tell them apart  -- too!)

Pubmaster: Well I was around in those older days and remember seeing and being awe-struck by many of your creations. So thank you very much! I hope they inspire you to create something again.

Personally i like midnight runner's designs the best. Still all the others are good 2.

P.S. General Homsar is it just me or does your dagger class ship look like the ship from star trek. :cylon:

P.S.S. yes i just realized that the survey ship for the terrans is almost an exact replica. My mistake.

Hello :D

I have a tiny ship called Interceptor-Spider-Mercury Class Mass Driver  that rocks    because it is level 77 and has more Hit  Points than Begining to Average Battleships. How many tiny ships that you know, that can make it  through a fleet battle? This one did alot, I-Spider-Mt - 12043. This the type of ship I am talking about.

Texas class battleship

The Texas class was designed by General Dynamics (the company responsible for the Dagger class,) in 2247. The first vessels were coming off the shipyards when the Second Krynn War broke out in 22 June 2247. The six completed at the time, EFS Akron, EFS Tiberius,EFS Richmond,EFS Calypso, EFS Hercules, and EFS Irwin Rommel, were dispatchted to the front lines almost immediatly, to bear the massave assault the Krynn and thier Arcean allies were bringing to bear. The new ships preformed spectacularly, accounting for hundreds of enemy kills, though the Richmond was lost when a Krynn cruiser rammed it in the Battle of Tycho in 2251. The Texas class, perhaps more than anything else, slowed down the Krynn/Arcean onslaught long enough for the Earth Federation to bolster its defences. When the Federation went on the offensive in 2253, the Texas class once agian lead the charge, taking part in the largest battles of the war, including Operation Soulstorm, a joint Federation-Thalan assault on Salamis IV, a vital Arcean industrial planet, now known for its staggerign loss of life: 956,000 killed in the space battle, and nearly three-and-a-half billion killed in the subsequent invasion. EFS Irwin Rommel, last of the original six ships, had arguably the greatest distiction of the Second Krryn War: that ship was where the Treaty of Vizzard, which ended the Second Krryn War, was signed. The Texas class continues to serve in the Earth Federation Starfleet; its rugged design and deadly armament ensure that it will continue to do so for years to come.
