Check out the SoaSE website. Unless it’s all a cruel hoax, all of us long suffering pre-purchase people will be playing the beta TODAY!

It's usually not posted on Impulse at 6:30 AM EST...

When we post betas, they tend to be mid/late afternoon Stardock time (EST, GMT-5).

So your saying I should call in sick for the rest of the week starting tomorrow instead of today; although, I don’t know how productive I’ll be at work today. I suppose I can a get through a day of work, then play all night.

Need..... my.... Entrenchment......

Out of interest, where abouts in Impulse will the Entrenchment beta download be listed?

Note: It would be nice to have purchased pre-orders listed in the My Games tab; I purchased this one when it was announced but apart from the confirmation emails, I've no actual record of it in Impulse.

It will be in My Games when you have "show pre-release versions" enabled. It doesn't show up yet because My Games only shows games you have registered - and until our orders are charged later today, we don't have anything registered :)

So, only the people that pre ordered it can play beta?

its beta ffs...

Paying for being a tester is pathetic.

Then don't do it :) Problem solved.

And how about starting the game?

Are we going to start the vanilla Sins and face some Entrenchment button in it - or indeed Entrenchment will have its own .exe ?

ah, so many boring silly questions just to kill the time :p

Except we're not paying for just the beta, we get the full version too.  We just get to play it earlier. :P

No idea whatsoever :P

I'd imagine Entrenchment is integrated to main sins game, with a new option in "Game Options" to enable or disable Entrencment features. But that is obiviously speculation.

Still some hours to go..

That doesn't make a lot of sense. We get the full game too. Hell, I paid *less* for it because I used the Survey coupon. If I were buying after beta, I wouldn't have that coupon.

Paying less AND getting to help test it? Yeah, sounds like a terrible deal to me. O:)

Of all the expansions I've played, they always have their own icon, if it did not, that would be just dumb to do that.

Is it too late to pre-order for the beta?

In the past, if you Pre-Ordered a Stardock game while the beta was going, you got right in. Unless they change something, pre-order (and the beta) only goes away when the final release is out.

What Scott said :) You should be fine. For long term multi-phase betas they tend to cut off order processing after about 2 weeks from each beta phase release, but I don't think they'll do that for Entrenchment.

Well than order up for me! I need this like I need to breathe

Stardock's game betas have been for pre-orders only for as long as I can remember.  The idea is simple: Those who have ordered the game have a vested interest in the game doing well and will provide better feedback than those who are just looking for a free game to try.

Betas are not demos, they're not there to try before you buy.  They are an opportunity for users to have input into the game they've purchased and be involved in making the game better.

Yes, but this is a "mini-expansion", not a whole different game, like, for example, C&C expansions.
