Stardock's game betas have been for pre-orders only for as long as I can remember.  The idea is simple: Those who have ordered the game have a vested interest in the game doing well and will provide better feedback than those who are just looking for a free game to try.

Betas are not demos, they're not there to try before you buy.  They are an opportunity for users to have input into the game they've purchased and be involved in making the game better.Wait, so you're saying I wont get to play the beta because I waited until today to pre order, even though thats the exact same reason that I waited this long to pre order in the first place?


 

You get to play today, once everyone else does.... the longer you waited to preorder the longer it will take to process your order.....

Does anyone know the pre-order numbers for Entrenchment? I want to know what percentage of people have bought the pre-ordered the expansion compared to the original sins.

I'm sure after all the pre-orders are completed for right now, they'll have some numbers down.

Gah! I just got the email, but Impulse needs to update first. And it's going extremely slowly: been sitting here for 5 minutes and it's at 0.1%. Not to be a troll or anything, but Impulse has quite a ways to go before it becomes reliable enough for me to use regularly for videogame purchases.

Nothing, just got back from dinner and still no lucky number 7 of the inbox....perhaps, I'll start a quick game, pretending I have a starbase built with an Invisibility ability activated...forever...perhaps, I'll go have a snowball fight with myself because everyone is studying, as I should be too...perhaps, I'll check my e-mail once more time and study while playing a game without a starbase...perhap...

DL'd it, played it, loved it. I only messed around for a lil bit for each faction, but it looks sweet to me. The Vasari upgrades to their phase missiles are a little weak IMO, but we'll see how it does with actual playtesting. The Vas starbase can MOVE.HAHAHAHAHA YOU"RE ALL DEAD NOW!
