I have sent in a Bug report to [email protected] with the error message and system info for my PC. You might do the same so they can use the info to help fix the problem.
Or post the error here.
It's the same one many are now reporting in the other thread. So far, it looks like at least a few of the people are on Vista 64.
"There was an error while applying {SKIN NAME}"
It fails with the default ones and any I create.
My system is Vista 64 Ultimate SP1, 8gb ram, quad core 6600 on a 680i series motherboard. This machine has multiple Operating Systems installed and this one boots off of the D: drive if that helps.
I'm having trouble too. Same error as the others, but I'm on Vista 32 bit ![]()

Still getting the error after updating via Impulse. Vista Ultimate x64 here.
Vista Ultimate 32, latest version of BP - still an error while applying ![]()
Is it supposed to be just a static picture, with no animation? If so, what's the point?
still not working after the next update?
For anyone still having issues after the update: Can you post the following info?
1.) Vista version (Home Premium, Business, etc.). 32 or 64 bit.
2.) Language version you have (non-english versions of Vista)
3.) Whether UAC is on or off.
Yet another update......still not working...try fixing it once and for all, and don't release programs until they are fully functioning, particulary when people pay good money for same.
I acturally paid to extend my subscription into 2010 to get just this unworkable program...what an absolute fool I was.
32bit Vista Sp1

Have tried with UAC on and off, does not make any difference.

Ian,
We will make Bootskin work for all users as quickly as possible. There have been a few different issues (not just one) we have been addressing them as we find them.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Is the animation important to you? Most users like having a custom image and just find the animation gets in the way.
Vista SP1 Home Prem 32 bit UK
Here was my problem
I see Boot Skin Pro is now up and running I installed selected a skin re-booted and got no nada nill boot screen just a black screen machine did boot however. I have a ASUS P5n32-e-Sli NVIDIA chip set OS is Vista 32 bit Ultimat
I got the problem fixed. I have a LG monitor it has a HDMI to DVI video hook up along with the standard DVI hook up on a Nvidia 800 series card with 1 gig of ram on the card it has 2 DVI connections.
I had it it set up using the HDMI to DVI and on reboots after installing boot screen pro I was not not getting a boot screen nor a post screen yet I wuld get the logon screen and it would boot to Vista Ultimate. I disabled the HDMI to DVI connection via my Monitors OSD and enabled the standard DVI connection everything worked. I got a boot screen of my selection. I then disabled the standard DVI connection and enabled the HDMI to DVI connection and rebooted and everything then worked with the HDMI to DVI connection using bootskin pro.
Just installed this (v1.00.035) and am getting the same error.
