OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection.You can get them below.

 

NOTE:  most of these were created/cropped/edited by folks other than myself, so please give credit where credit is due

Additional Note:  There are many more avatars scattered throughout the forum.  I just posted the majority of them here.  I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further.  You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.

This OP is under construction.  Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch.  There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP.  Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away.  They should have avatars in this OP soon.  Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web.  its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.

We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.

YAY  Island dog's post about our avatars was updated to include me link

For any new guys that come due to said Island Dog's news, I said somewhere "post any requests"  and that remains true (you can post in this thread).  exsting custom avatars inclued sky sharks, bear cavalry, and a guy on a flaming horse.  (most of them arn't used by anybody already either >_>; )  I can't promise anything that awesome, but I will always be willing to edit something to be a more personalized color scheme for you or something like that.

I guess I should post this here

It was a joke about riding a super model rather than a bear in the "create-a-hero" thread.  So the super-model cavarly was born.  I think a guy claimed it already though.   I didn't make it for anybody in particular, but he said he added it to his profile and I haven't seen him post since.

because they will.    There was talk about an all-women 'amazon' type faction in another discussion.  Certainly, they wouldn't be complete with woman mounts.  Only then would it be an ALL WOMAN army.    (that would be 'hot' on several levels)  And chariots pulled by women in chains and leather harnesses....  ok, I officially have given it too much thought now.

lol, thanks!  yeah I've seen that. Such a good pic (actually, there are some editing mistakes, but only if you're looking very hard).   Where's luckmann, he'd really love it.

From what I've read, that's the case. If you know of a box that hasn't been updated, you should be able to sign in from there and do your avatar change without needing to re-jigger your own machine.

Alturnitively, because these are pretty easy to access (they are right here on the site) if there is another place you'd trust to sign in (such as work or school) that doesn't have flash 10, you can do it there.

For a while, my internet explorer didn't have flash 10, while my Firefox did.  So you could just try using a different browser.

Another option is to uninstall Flash 10 redownload Flash 9 install it, UL the avatar then reinstall Flash 10. :fuzzy:

AH!  I realized I should put this here as well.   As a responce to those cat snipers.

 

BTW:  I'm done creating avatars.  (I mean nobody else has asked me for one) so if I forgot to make something, and you asked me to do so.  Remind me.  Or if you haven't asked me, feel free.   The offer is still in the air (at least until game release, for fear of being flooded)

Yeah. Unless a massive amount of new "medals" hit the streets, given my on-off activity on the forums (and that Sparta steals all the credit by having the OP :D) I'm with Landi. Requests are still taken by PM, but doing avatars just for the hell of it.. well.. I'm still doing that. They're just not Elemental-centric. So.. no.

I had been thinking about that.  when the beta hits, I almost expect to be in a race with you for scouring the game for medals that were not completed yet at the end of 2008 or whenever the last medal update was.

I know.  I'm so jealous.   but I have over 60 karma which I hope is plenty to get into the private test version like the alpha and gamma  (that doesn't mean you shouldn't give me more.   I'm looking at *you* person using one of my bear avatars but hasn't given me karma yet).  Such is the world.  Scientist and university get all the credit for the break-throughs made by students and interns/  original post for "get avatars here" gets all the credit for the other avatars being made.

of course, I was somehow initially left out of the news post about the avatars.  So you've gotten more credit than I have Luckmann.

and I'm a good chunk of your recent karma as is XD

the real competition is annatar though.  That guy's got tons of karma, and not from doing anything (its all from the off-topic threads.  And he's very helpful, so I'm not trying to downplay that he deserves it exactly... just it isn't frame elemental forum contribution exactly).  Though, in his defense he is a regular in the IRC chat.
