OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection.You can get them below.

 

NOTE:  most of these were created/cropped/edited by folks other than myself, so please give credit where credit is due

Additional Note:  There are many more avatars scattered throughout the forum.  I just posted the majority of them here.  I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further.  You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.

This OP is under construction.  Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch.  There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP.  Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away.  They should have avatars in this OP soon.  Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web.  its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.

We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.

Ok, I've got a proposition for you. If anyone want me to photoshop an image into one of those fancy frames, just ask me and post the image and I'll do it for you. Or if you want an edit of something as an avatar, just tell me what you want and I'll do my best.

 

Edit: Oh, and Spartan, is that a transparant jpg? You can't do that! Seriously, how did you do that?

Nothing at all but bragin' rights. :wulf: What else is there in the digital domain? 

It is also something we can use to create community spirit and camaraderie which serves us all well collectively - nothing more, nothing less. It is a point. It is not very big nor very sharp but it is a point nonetheless.

Truth be told Annatar and I are at war! :cylon:

He has me pummeled in karma in Sins since I had to miss the multiplayer testing. Consequently I have never been able to catch up to him. XO

So here were are again... 

Another new community, a bitter rivalry in place and news worlds to conquer!  And as it should be, I'm soundly stomping him into ashes. :banhammer:

Ok, I see it now, even if you use a png file as avatar it still shows up as "icon.jpg". The funny part is that if you dewnload the icon.jpg to your computer it is still a jpg, with transparacy! Hiiii! :D

 

Just, tested it, if you rename a .png to .jpg it still keeps the transparancy and is a working jpg. It's a png in disguise. cool.

Yes. The format is file name independent. You can do the same with gifs. :digichet:

That's a bit wierd. I knew it somehow converted them to .jpg's, but *I* can't actually open them up in Photoshop, unless I rename them to .png's (unknown markers and whatnot). Thanks for that tip, though, it'll really help if I want to fiddle with someone's avatar (which I do a lot more than most people know)

its true.  I just got my cookie.  It tastes so good!   It has a kind of chocolate that doesn't use milk (for those lactose intolerant) but still tastes like chocolate.

Luckmann posted a picture somewher on the forums (I've forgotten where actually...  shame on me, I should have copied it for reference).  The point it is that it was more bear cav, so I had to create more bear cav avatars from it.

 

2 more, or MOUR! as a bear might say.

(I'm not sure where he found the original bear, nor did I ask permission to the original artist.  Which I try to do when I can for those who know me.  So here's my disclaimer.  Enjoy anyway.  I'd always be happy to create more.)

Well, I don't really deserve it. I stole it somewhere on the net. I steal a lot of immaterial things. I even edited the signature of the image, to fit it onto the forum without resizing.

I went to find it, and after sifting through all my things, it turns out that the image isn't singed at all. But it's named "Father Perry | Akuma", presumably the name of the bear and the rider (but who's who!?).

Anyway, landisaurus, I must say that even though the first avatar looks a bit bleak, I absolutely love it. I'd probably take it and colorize it just a tad, if I wasn't so attached to my current avatar.

One of the sharks is from a surfing california ad.  The other is from what appears to be a screensaver.   I created the sad guy being about to be eaten by a shark a long time ago, but didn't post it because I wasn't sure if it was public license or not + not many beyond myself seemed particularly excited about sky sharks. 

Anyway, for more avatars for those who have none!    I proudly present the only thing that might almost be as scary as an army riding on bears....  an school of flying sharks!  (and a brave knight that tamed one enough to ride)

 

  

 

You know that true terror.  The terror of knowing that you have a shark right behind you... yeah, that guy feels it.

edit: In hindsight, the artist in my is having a fit over that guys face.  I think it may be a little too strong on the features to the point it contrasts the rest of the art.   What do you think?

Edit: I just noticed that the fire crystal had been redone, so I made a new avatar out of that, too. Boo, though. I love how it looks no, but damn, it ruined my spring collection!

Edit2: Sparta, if you're still here somewhere, I'd really appreciate if you could upload it on wherever you upload stuff. I'm still using imageshack, and it's proved unreliable when it comes to keeping .png's. I've got no real idea why (probably because .png's are much larger than .gif or .jpg.

I noticed this emblem was missing from the above list.   It was part of the full list by frogboy (I resized it of course)

 

and maybe this is just me... but I feel like the 'official' avatars should be above my 'musings' rather than below.   Like I know its in semi-chronological order, but I feel...  egocentric by being above frogboy's emblems.

 

also I made this for flyguy, as per his request.   Its also a test for the fire elmental I'm going to draw for his 'draw the mount you want in elemental' topic

So let me know if you think the fire 'works.'

@Luckman & Landisaurus - OK guys do either of you have Steam and want L4D? If so I have a left over copy L4D to give someone. I bought seven copies to give to guys on my forums as presents and to play with them as a team but one of them already had game. So I have one left over. I figured since you both have contributed so much to the community here it would be best to give it to one of you.
