Did you not know the anticipation is fun too. It's something to look forward to.

I don't mind the anticipation after they announce something and tell me that the new game will be available by Christmas 2010.  Just the announcement of the announcement.

I think it's marketing. It's a pain.

I remember seeing commercials with only a few pictures and you had no idea what it was about. They kept passing the thing on and off for about 2 weeks and then boom the announcment.

A cool announcement I would like to see?   "Galciv ToA 2.0 has been released."   Now THAT would be a good announcement.

Only 1 more day until we get some real info (woot!).  I assume there will be a new forum created to allow us to provide ideas/feedback?

The beta will be avaliable earlier then that, as in by June of this year, so you'll have something.

Nice find, idunno116.  Hopefully the official announcement is more than just a few alpha screenshots and general game concepts posted on Gamespy (I'd love to see a website and forum).

My initial take- I like the name and concepts.  It looks like there are still a lot of details that need to be fleshed out still, but considering the release is approximately 1.25 years away, there's plenty of time for that!

That second page sounds exactly like Demigod.  I assume this is a misunderstanding and Brad was actually discussing Demigod instead.

Trying to open the screenshots on the Gamespy article, I get an advertisement for Bully instead.

Also: "persistent universe mode that will allow players to develop long-term open campaigns".  Is that just the Metaverse, or something else?

Edit: I should add that, yep, still excited, shall be pre-ordering when available.

Sounds more like a save and resume multiplayer type deal.

They really changed a lot from the screenshot shown in this thread. The castles/cities are expanded, the trees totaly different, the interface, eveything. Only the painting birds I recognized.

But yeah, this is -almost- definitely something I'll pick up.  However, I do consider preordering what looks to be like a year before the beta a tad overdoing it.  I would tend to think I'm slightly less Impulse-ive than that.
