I'm very excited for this game. Galactics Civilizations is a very good game with a lot of content, I like that they go after new things and are always innovative. This new game seems like it will have a cleaner or simplier look with huge open enviroment, and the different setting. They do the right choice in varying and looking for new settings IMO. Eventually they will go back to tittle sequences. Its also very important that they like what they are doing; to keep at one thing over to much might not be inspiring.

Cruel, kind, mysterious...I don't know what to make of this one-liner

I should say "mutating one-liner."

Well, patience is a virtue...

Pushed back about a week- dang.  I was looking forward to tomorrow, too.  I should know better than get excited about a game that won't be out until 2010, anyway, but this really has me anticipating its arrival, and it's been a long time since I've anticipated an upcoming game.

Ah damn, the announcement will happen on nov 4. and not tomorrow. <_<

Ah well, please post lot of screenshots + full feature list if possible on nov 4.! B)

PS. The game will be released in 2010? I thought that the release date is 2009, since they plan to start the beta in Q2 2009....8|

They said since they have absolutely no pressures to release it, it'll be done when they are satisfied with it :P

Really?  Election Day?

Maybe Brad's just hoping we scribble "Brad Wardell" on the ballots and put a check next to it, since we'll all be too preoccupied thinking about the announcement..

My guess is that Brad will post a single character from the press release every hour from now until next Tue just to keep us hitting the F5 key.

Only 1 character an hour? That would only give us about 160 characters, depending on when you set the start and endpoints. Tickertape worked faster than that during the last great economic collapse. I vote for something closer to 60 characters per hour. That'd give us maybe a couple-thousand words, hopefully just the tip of the iceberg for the full deal.

No one ever said what the anouncement would be....   They may just give us the name of the game.  160 characters would be more then enough for that. *grin*

Now I have time to *beat* Fallout 3 before the announcement hits!  Sooooo unfair ;)

So? Fallout 3 is awesome! Especially in VATS when you throw a grenade, the guy says "OH SHI-" and then gets his legs taken off at the knees.

I also like how you can pick up people's heads once you decapatate them.

That does NOT sound like my idea of a fun game!  Gross...

I seem to remember in Fallout 2, if you spent too much time in radioactive pools you could mutate a 6th toe on your foot and then have it removed and keep it forever.  Good times those.

In F3, one of your possible missions involves "radiation research" for a pretty cooky gal.  If you get yourself up to 600 Rads worth of radiation poisoning, you're granted a neat little radiation-related perk that's sort've on the lines of the toe thing, but not quite as gruesome ;)

I just read that Armando and I actually just got that.

Don't you love the announcing of announcements?

"Mayor calls press conference to announce he is running for higher office."  Huh?  Didn't he just announce it?

"How what you're having for dinner will kill you.  Story at 11."

We have so many news channels we choke on mediocrity.  Stories about boring news items are discussed for 24-hours a day.

I just don't understand announcing that you'll have something important to say later, especially in a written format.  I mean if you were trying to gather cameras so you could make it on a media program, fine.  Get the reporters there.  But written...seems contrived.
