I've got to say, being a college student at the moment, I find it hard to balance working, studying, and having a social life. This doesn't make me think 'well everybody else should have to experience that problem' it makes me think 'I hope nobody else does have to'
Having said that, it's not up to a citizen who didn't get the opportunity 20 years ago and is struggling on a low-income to pay the way of someone now. That's who will end up paying for it. That's who always pays for it, because a dollar is more to them than 10 dollars to richer citizens, and yet they're taxed only slightly less.
