Create your own TV show, or what show would you like to be un-canceled?

Hey guys, how is everyone? Everyone has a show they like, but not every show we would like to see is on the airwaves. So, if you have a good idea for a show, or one you want back on, share it here.

Here are my ideas:

The first is Star Trek: Excalibur. It takes place between Enterprise and TOS, and is set in the Mirror Universe. (!)

Here's the set-up: It's been a few years since the events of "In a Mirror, Darkly," and the Terran Empire is in trouble. Dissidents are trying to depose Hoshi, who is going mad with power and introducing increasingly fascistic decrees and the Tholians and Gorn have joined the rebelion. However, the Empire has a secret weapon: the Excalibur, a new ship using the technology gained from the Defaint and the Empire's new allies, the Xindi. As the factions duke it out, the Suliban hatch a frightining plot, one that could destroy the Empire--and humanity--forever...

The next is Brothers in Hell.

Simple premise here: Think Band of Brothers in the Vietnam War.

Finally, I'd like to see Dogfights back on the air. I don't know why this was cancaled; it was the best show the History Chanel.

Star Trek taking place after Voyager (15+ years) about using Transwarp and going back to exploring lands that have never heard of the federation or humans. The first Transwarp ship. exploring all 4 sectores. reatemp roddenberrys attempt to show reflections of humanity (both good and bad) in other aliens.

Actually the first transwarp ship was the USS Excelsior (NX-2000 Star Trek III) However, there is much debate weather transwarp actually worked. Some say that the ship was actually capable of transwarp, but due to some sabotage, it turned out to be so much of an embarrassment, the technology was never used. Others say it never worked even after the sabotage was repaired and the ship was then retrofitted with the most efficient engines at that time. (Redesignated NCC-2000 Star Trek IV) Which is why you see Excelsior class ships in the early episodes of ST:TNG.

As far as TV shows I would like to see brought back,

Automan (A hip 80's series that lasted one season)
Quantum Leap (A good series, that never really took off because the network never really accepted the premise of the series.)

Whoever said BSG, I'm pretty sure they ARE sort-of continuing it, in spin-off form at least (Caprica).

I definitely want to see more Firefly, although Serenity cut back on that pretty hard (but hey, just set it after season 1 and only, and before Serenity... it works out fine :p )

I'd like to see more Futurama as well, but they're just about coming out episodically in movie form, it looks like.

Lastly, and completely unrelated to any of the others, I wish Arrested Development lasted longer. That show was gold. The crazy-ass ending though, haha, there's no chance after that one. It was Annyong!

A third season of HBO:s Canivàle.
Probably the best show in the world, as Carlsberg would have put it.

Space: Above and Beyond was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. Glad to see I'm not alone in that.
Crusade needs to be re-done from the bottom up. The Network screwed that show up so bad, along with the 5th season of B5, which is still the greatest sci-fi show ever as far as I'm concerned.
I always wanted to see Knight Rider come back. Then it did, and I wish it hadn't.
One show that I've always wished hadn't ended was Nowhere Man. I'm sure very few people know what that show even was, but I was freakin hooked on it, then UPN just pulled the plug out of nowhere right when the plot was really picking up some speed.
All in all though if I had to pick one, it'd be Space: Above and Beyond. Such a good show that had so much potential.

Crocodile Hunter. Steve Irwin is a hero. Unfortunately, un-canceling that show would take an act of God rather than just an act of a studio executive...

The Opening Sequence for the Mirror Enterprise show was EPIC!!! (A little on the negative side, showing all warships and oppression, but that was the whole point), and what made it EPIC...

I enjoyed a series back in the 90's about some settlers going to another planet. It had Rebekka Gayheart and the butler from the movie Clue. I think it was called Earth 2? Anyhow, I thought it was pretty good.

The Lensman Series,

I could go for that.
The books were great. I have not read them for decades, perhaps I'll have to hunt them down and read them again.

Was that Quark? I don't remember much about it to be honest, and had to google it to jog my memory, but it sounds like it.

That rings a bell... It was on for a few weeks and disappeared. I can't even remember if it was funny or not... It was just the whole premise, especially considering it was the 70's.

I didn't bring up B5 because they have done, and from what I have heard are planning to do another direct to DVD type thing. I think this WAS the best SF show until season 5. Thank you TNT for screwing up royally and forcing us into "have a new character and spend 75% of the season with shows only about her" syndrome. (DS9 ring a bell? Voyager and 7of9? 7 out of 9 star trek fans prefer new characters with shapely figures and, well... appropriate female accoutrements... And they REALLY messed up the end of DS9 because of it.)

As for Excalibur... the second I saw the guy in charge was the father in the Brady Bunch movies I lost it and couldn't watch... (your shews'll slip in the juish...)

Man... I just realized how geeky I really am. Holy Crap... I need to stop typing immediately! ;p

FIREFLY!!! They must bring back firefly.

Seriously, nothing would make me happier. Except maybe Jessica Alba knocking on my door right about now.

Sadly I think they're equally likely...

Ohhh. Gotcha.

I would also like another Star Trek, one with a lot of action and not just talking.

Maybe a show from a Klingon perspective. They're warlike. (understatement!)

Or my Mirror Universe show. Lots of frag-fest potential in those.

A show I'd to see is another Star Wars miniseries set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Two shows I'd like to see uncanceled would be Samurai Jack and Invader Zim.

I'm sure it would bomb but I'd like to see a Star Trek show from the Romulan perspective.

With the military, Tal-Shiar, and scheming politics you couldn't get more drama then that.

You can tie in Spock and the annoying Federation.

how about the A Team with the original cast brought back. that and Airwolf.

im only mostly kidding though. they are remaking Night Rider and finished the BSG remake. I bet some of the oldy but goody shows will be retread in the near future too.

Got to weigh in with more support for Firefly - a criminal decision to cancel it.

Also a re-make of Blake's 7 (finishing it properly) would be a great idea - if they could do the same for that as they've done with the BSG re-make, it would be superb!

Finally, Red Dwarf should continue for at least another 50 series - best TV program ever, bar none (IMHO)!

They promise they'd do it if they could get everyone who watches it to put that "H" on there foreheads... I was going to mention it, but it was so short a run and so long ago...

Also Piznit... I do believe Earth2 was the name of that show. IIRC it was just getting interesting when it vanished.

Anybody remember the Logan's run series ???

RENEW.....RENEW.....Oops...spilled my beer!!!...Here, use my RENEWzit so it won't stain or smell...

Sorry.

Long Day.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Andromeda. It was an awesome show up until they fired the lead writer mid-season 2. He later released the script summarising how it would have ended and it was clear that he'd planned an intricate political and complex story. It just annoys me that the network thought it was too "intellectual" for the mass market and wanted more Dylan-focused episodes with one-offs and simple star-trek like stories (Not that I don't like Star Trek)being more important than having a universe as complex as something Tolkien or Frank Herbert could produce.

The Star Trek Excalibur idea sounds cool too. Stories of backstabbing, betrayal and ambition would make a change from the more peace-loving federation setting of the other series.

Firefly yes.

Dresden Files yes.

The winner would be a series based on Roger Zelazny's books on The Nine Princes of Amber.

Amber is the real world were the occupents of a chosen blood line can manipulate "shadow." Earth and every other place you can time exists in shadow and these folks have the ability to get there as well as create stuff. There is a story of sibling struggles (nice aliteration eh?) plus just ooodles of good stuff.

It would sell big as a movie, mini-series, TV series whatever...

If I knew how to market a screenplay Id actually try to write it...
