Create your own TV show, or what show would you like to be un-canceled?

Hey guys, how is everyone? Everyone has a show they like, but not every show we would like to see is on the airwaves. So, if you have a good idea for a show, or one you want back on, share it here.

Here are my ideas:

The first is Star Trek: Excalibur. It takes place between Enterprise and TOS, and is set in the Mirror Universe. (!)

Here's the set-up: It's been a few years since the events of "In a Mirror, Darkly," and the Terran Empire is in trouble. Dissidents are trying to depose Hoshi, who is going mad with power and introducing increasingly fascistic decrees and the Tholians and Gorn have joined the rebelion. However, the Empire has a secret weapon: the Excalibur, a new ship using the technology gained from the Defaint and the Empire's new allies, the Xindi. As the factions duke it out, the Suliban hatch a frightining plot, one that could destroy the Empire--and humanity--forever...

The next is Brothers in Hell.

Simple premise here: Think Band of Brothers in the Vietnam War.

Finally, I'd like to see Dogfights back on the air. I don't know why this was cancaled; it was the best show the History Chanel.

Star Trek: Excalibur, as you have outlined, sound pretty good.

I would also like to see Jericho brought back.

I saw an Allied States of America flag in a flea market. It was the weirdest thing. :NOTSURE:

I watch very little television, but I did quite enjoy Firefly, despite its flaws. If I have to pick a show I'd like to see 'uncancelled', it would probably be that. I might actually be motivated to sit in front of the tv if they put it back on the air.

That Writer's Strike was just the wrong time because it damaged Heroes so much, Heroes was so awesome!!!, and even if it's still viable, the damage was done...

SNL's parody (MacGruber) actually got me interested in watching some old MacGuyver shows for the comic value. His mullet and the BS he pulls out his backside make for some good humor. Who the hell wrote that stuff? I think it must have been Mr. Wizard's brother.

Farscape... SciFi network totally blew the ending to this show. I'd love to see what they had in store for the last season.

If you do Star Trek Excalibur why not use the actual USS Excalibur from the Star Trek New Frontier books by Peter David. It used established characters found in the Next Generation.

You know they made a full length movie that takes place after the last episode to really wrap things up, right? ;) Check it out, it was pretty good. They did the same thing to SG-1.

As for the show I'd like to see un-cancelled, well, Futurama was one but now they're making full length "movies" straight to DVD, so I guess it kinda did. I suppose my vote would be to Space: Above and Beyond, because the series showed promise. Redone with more modern CGI, it could be good. I mean, how many sci fi shows actually has humanity gettings its butt kicked? :P

Star Trek taking place after Voyager (15+ years) about using Transwarp and going back to exploring lands that have never heard of the federation or humans. The first Transwarp ship. exploring all 4 sectores. reatemp roddenberrys attempt to show reflections of humanity (both good and bad) in other aliens.

A Time travel show, cross between quantem leap, slider, and back to the future.

A live action Marvel show, weather xman or avengers or captian america or whatever. Something good in quality equal to the first xman or spiderman movies.

1- Firefly... A show rarely comes together like that one did, and it was a wholly original series that could do anything and go anywhere and never feel like it couldn't be there. I believe I heard they were going to do a direct to DVD 2nd film, but I'm not 100%...

2- Journeyman... an ODD show that was just getting started. Alot of potential there, but was on at a bad time and after heroes, which was totally the wrong audience for it...

3- The Dresden Files... I hated it from day one. But the characters were good, and it had alot of mileage left in it.

Space Above and Beyond should get a mention too. It was years ahead of it's time, and it's subject matter was too deep for the 7pm Sunday slot it got stuffed in. Given the success of BSG, an adult Sci-Drama has a better chance to shine now than at any time in recent memory...

Any body remember the show about a garbage ship in space? In the original BSG/Buck Rogers era... I think it had John (I acted in EVERY bad Science fiction movie ever made) Saxon in it... Not Red Dwarf BTW, which also could get an honorable mention here as well...

Was that Quark? I don't remember much about it to be honest, and had to google it to jog my memory, but it sounds like it.

Continue BSG for a few more seasons.

I'd say keep an eye on that because with the Dogfights of the Future episode it looks like they got a new engine to render, so they might just be needing more time. The show also needs dogfight suggestions to recreate so if you have any and the people who participated are still around, e-mail them and see what happens.

As for shows I want back, I'd like Invader Zim to come back. That was a good show to me and the DVD's are still good, plus season two sounded like it would just get better. I'll still never know why Nickelodeon sold it to Cartoon Network when it went...

For me it really depends on how the shows would be continued, for example, I would agree with more Space: Above and Beyond having been made at the time, just not a remake, because remakes very rarely capture the spirit of the original.

Though that said I really cant think of many shows that I even feel warrant continuation, probably only Tripods and Blakes 7, but both of those needed finishing rather than continuing.

As to New shows, there are 3 things that I have always felt deserved being made, as tv shows or mini-series.

The Lensman Series,
Perry Rhodan, (obviously would probably end up being the longest sci-fi TV show ever made)
Bio of a Space Tyrant, (Not that this would EVER get made, not something the masses would be able to stomach)

Incidentally, yes I know I have only covered sci-fi, but I only watch sci-fi and comedy TV, largely because everything else is pretty terrible, granted most sci-fi and comedy shows are as well, but these two genres atleast have a few worth watching.

Sorry, it wouldn't fit, because the Excalibur in this case is a hybrid of human and Xindi technology, and the show (if it exsisted) would be in the Mirror Universe.

That is a very easy question to answer because the best sifi show to hit the airwaves was, is and always will be Babylon 5 and its spin off Crusade  :CONGRAT:
Followed by Battlestar Galactica(The new one) just to name a few

Space: Above and Beyond

What was that show about, exactly?

Basically, humanity just started exploring space and started colonizing other planets, when one of their colonies was suddenly destroyed by an advanced alien race (later referred to as Chigs, as in the type of bug). The series only ran for one season, but it was basically humanity struggling in a losing war against a technologically superior enemy. It was a "victory" to survive more than "kick the Chigs' butts", and that made it quite interesting.

Of course there were a few twists with mega-powerful corporations, politics, etc.. :P

Terraziel, your post reminded me of one series of books I always wanted to see made into a tv show: C.J. Cherryh's Chanur series. I'm not sure how feasible it would be, but if it could be done well it would be a kick-ass show.

Firefly without a doubt. Such a fun show and great, great character interaction.

I'd like a show based on Galciv. It would be interesting.

I would also like another Star Trek, one with a lot of action and not just talking.

What I meant was make a show off of the Book Series. Sorry for the confusion. I never liked the Mirror Universe storyline except for the one in Enterprise.
