Hello again

I would like to re-announce to the Community the latest on the tribute suite to BoXXi. We have now voted and with input from BoXXi and from the community it is decided that instead of building a suite from an existing BoXXi work ( fruitloops ) , we will now complete what would have been BoXXi's 100th submussion to WC.

The skin the commiunity has chosen will be One Hundered.

I have uploaded the source to https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=955&libid=18

I now ask the following for volunteers for the following:

Windowblinds

Iconpackager/Dock icons

Dock Backgrounds

DesktopX gadgets (Weather/clock/calendar)

Media player skins (Xion/Winamp/WMP)

Application skins ( Rainlendar/Sysmetric )

I would like to take this opportunity to invite any and all skinners , coders , testers and anyone that can help out to contribute to help out . If you have code or graphics you would like to build your skin around , or to allow this project to use , it would be appreciated.

If someone on the IRC channel has a 24x7 connection , it would be appreciated if a channel #onehundred could be created so we can come in and chat about our ideas.

I would also like to ask that this thread be stickied / an article created for it.

I'll edit this post as we get more into the project.

It needs no reminding , but this is Our tribute to BoXXi.

Would anyone have any objections to me posting the 100 Sidebar ? ,

~ as I will be putting it into both The DS Forums as well as onto Skinning.net ... as I cannot upload to Wincustomise ..... but the Links will be there for for Kitty to put into the Main Theme Post ?

Should we set an upload date? The mods are still going to have to do their work, but at least most of the things will be close together in the gallery.

+2 for sure..... I dont know how to get in contact with Aroche...someone will have to do that....

my only prob will be the links to everyones work.....im assuming i will have to be last, and then get the links and then upload?

Everyone could just upload and once they are approved we could PM you the link. You could then update your WB description with all the links. The only drawback is there will be a little bit of a time lag from the time that they are approved to the time you update your desription.

Once every thing is up, I was planning on linking everyones work to the dream description as well.

I think is just a case of upload then update with links as other parts are released to the each gallery, would not hold the WB back.
Everyone will be in the same boat watching for other bits so they can add links.

Updating Links, descriptions does not require remoderation...it's instant. :)

The reason there would be a time lag is the time zone differences between the team members.

I just thought I would say that it has been a great pleasure to be involved in this project , and it's been great fun watching it all come together ... oh , nearly forgot ~ What a great bunch of people to be alongside too ! !

Maybe, and hopefully ,one day in the not too distant future you can download Desktop Sidebar here on Wincustomise instead of leaving the site to get them ... Oh well .. the Evangelism continues ... hehe !!

Is there anyone here who knows how to do .suite files. He/she could take the independant components and build a suite.

You mean where the tab is actually on the dock background? I can do whatever you want. I tried making one using the window borders from the skin itself but the colors don't work with the tabs...one kind of cancels the other out and you can't see the text. You know black...white and grey.

Don't quote me on this but I think Desktop Sidebar is not compatable with .suite files ... as it comes with its own installer .. but maybe it might be possibel to zip it and then insert it .. not too sure about that one , Bug ..

I would think tossing everything that's suite compatable into the .suite and linking to the rest should be ok.

I am sorry you didn't get in on this. Being one of my favorite "Dock Whores". We didn't really have enough Boxxi graphics for an actual Boxxi WB.  ;)

I agree. I don't know about the .suite file. I say we just upload the items and get the mods to release all at once.
