COMBINES UZII'S SINS PLUS WITH BAILKNIGHT'S GRAPHICS MOD FOR ONLINE PLAY

Been getting a lot of people interested in a standardized combination of the two mods mentioned in the titles.
I took it upon myself to combine them in what i call Adama Repack.

This takes the graphical aspect from Balknight's mod and merges it with Uzii's Sins Plus mod, keeping none of the gameplay changes except of the ones specific to new planet types that were created by Uzii and his compadres.

All the credit belongs to Uzii, Balknight, and those who were mentioned in Uzii's readme, i just compiled.

He has an unnamed sins project site coming up, which i believe will be dedicated to sins mods.

This Repack Includes the newest versions of both mods, as per March 31, 2008. Namely:
Balknight's Graphics Mod v1.2
Uzii's Sins Plus v1.3a + v1.04 Compatibility and Balance Changes

This mod does not attempt to change any gameplay mechanics. It plays just like the vanilla (1.04), but with new planets and greatly overhauled effects.

This mod has been compiled in the interest of multiplayer consistancy, so that people can meet online and play this exact mod together, without having to worry whether or not it will work.

I dont think it's the files being corrupted. I'm using xp x64
I can extract the files to say the root C:\ , however as soon as i try to paste into
anywhere into documents and settings, I get the error about the name being too long.

Is this x64 related you think? It's odd that i can put into a 'normal' folder without hassle



EDIT: Upon further investigation, I can infact paste it into \Sins Plus and Balknight's Graphics Mod_Adama_Repack_v1.0 folder, but cannot paste into the Gameinfo folder.

The longest i can name it is .e (as opposed to do .entity) so 5 chars too long?

Ideas?

Renaming the base folder to say Adama_1.0 or something allows me to be able to then extract all files successfully. I think if we rename the folder to something shorter in the next release so we are able to play online would be a good idea :)

That's really really weird. Mine worked on all the vista PCs i used, x64 and x86. When i get home I'll rename and repack the mod. It's frustrating to know that a bunch of people are going to have an altered name now. I have just decided that from here on in, version 1.0 is going to be named exactly:

Adama_Repack_v1.0

Will get changes done asap.

That's what people should rename their folder to if they are interested in online games with other people using this mod.

Also, i can't stress enough how important it is to enable mod at startup and restart the game. Just like any other mod, it will not work smoothly until you have completed those steps

Keep a look out guys:) I have a great mod put together that uses this mod. variable fleet supply mod + capital ships gain increased stats through leveling up. Base capital ship stats remain the same.

Will post it up as soon as I get permission from Bailknight, Uzzi and Adama.

actually they didn't connect the dots when I asked for permission to use this repack. They were very polite, and regardless, I'm pretty ashamed of how i acted, even if i do agree that they shouldn't have been so harsh on the guy who used their mod and gave them full credit without asking permission.

The download link isn't broken actually, but this does not work with 1.04.
Looking forward to updates from Uzii and Balknight so i can put together Adama_Repack_v1.04

Edit: Download link fixed, sorry for the inconvenience. Looks like when i get v1.04 up, I'll have a torrent for this repack as a backup way of downloading it.

Updated! Full STABLE support for 1.04 including all the balance changes of 1.04.

Includes Balknight's GFX 1.2 and Uzii's Sins Plus 1.3a.

Heh, just spread the word! It's getting tough to recruit random people from the lobby to install it so i dont have to play the boring standard game with boring battle effects and just plain boringness.
Something about the enhanced effects just makes the game 2 times more fun =P
