After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

Ok, using my PDA now so can't actually do skinning until after 3 in the morning Stardock/American time, gonna get some sleep now, but give me some suggestions as to improving the HBX. (HBX means Happy Birthday Xion) See you guys tomorrow.

Thanx AVMAN!  Do you know, do we need a full compliment of widgets, or just calendar and weather?  By full compliment, I mean calendar, weather, meters, sys info, and media player....oh, we alrady have xion, but I can do a media player for those who don't have xion.  Lemme know!!  Cal and weather are ready!

The real hold up (for me) was the DX countdown widget to tie everything together.

What was the idea of the countdown gadget??? IS there graphics?

I have the Community wall about 50% done, but i was sick last week, and i have been worn the crap out.

There was an on going conversation about it between Zubaz,Milksama,and myself I went back through the thread look at the replies from us on pages 38,40,43,44 of this thread.

IS there graphics?

Graphics You will see the contdown just click to DL.

Jim have you seen the Xion skIn? Take a look! I'll have to find out which page it's on, only I'm using my mobile phone and the pages take ages to load. And I'm amazed at how quickly you completed the calendar and weather! Well done! (I would give you a thumbs-up but my phone doesn't show the tools.) Now I'd better get off to MY cave and work on being as fast as you. See y'all later.

i looked at the work that was done on the countdown gadget....

On the graphic (whomever made it) can we split things into pieces?  So we can "show" Winky and the cake only on the birthday?

There is a png for a cake "explosion" or something?  Im not sure how that was setup, if you have the origional images (png's) i can put it together into an animated png or something.

So the idea on this is to allow someone to put in their name, and birthday, and have it countdown till the day, then on the day show the cake, (maybe some animated candle flames anyone?) what else?

I can try and make all this work this week, but i cant guarantee anything.

In my perfect world the gadget would search the WC gallery for all available Birthday Suit(e) skins and present them to the birthday boy/girl to download and install.
