The game does not focus on diplomacy or empire building, in the end the game ends up being get the most territory by force and the biggest army wins

No, the top 4X games all of them either give you an option or require you to win other then extermination!

What, you mean like the getting the most resources or through diplomacy? Isn't the objective usually to come out on top, through possessing more resources? Also, the races in this game are essentially enemies.

Only 8/10? The reviewer must be taken out and dooted like a shog!

"What I Didn't Like: No single-player campaign; pace is a tad slow for my tastes; combat could use some spice; the multiplayer. Here's the thing about Sins multiplayer, if you're playing with people you know it's great. The problem is that since the game is already long it's hard to find strangers who will stay through a full game or try to fight out of a corner. I have this same problem with all RTS multiplayer. Most people quit if they get attacked too early or if they attack and you hold them off. The pace of Sins only compounds this issue."

I try to ignore them, but they're one of the first things that pop up when you access Sins GS page. You'll see a user review that gives the game 3.0 for not having a campaign, or not playing HW.

Well, I'm sure to be called a troll, but what the hell, I've played enough of this game to say that I've played this game before, back when it was called Homeworld. It was good then in fact I still own it, but now i've bought it again. It is the same game, just a retread, and a few added missions, and if there are any updates, those are to run on new systems.
Good thing I didn't spend $50 or I'd be pissed. Well now it seems that the game industry is going through the same problems that the movie/television industry is having, No New Ideas.
Don't rip me off!

You're right, you do sound like a troll. I didn't realize HW had three sides, an open ended galaxy, management of such things like diplomacy, trade, planets, etc. Which HW were you playing?

And this game has missions? Aside from a.i. requests? Are you sure you've played this game?

The game over all is a very good solid game.

The one thing, in my opinion, that is is missing is a campaign / storyline. The small cutscene at the beginning of the game really does not cut it as a storyline for the game. I kind of amazes me that the devs put so much work into all the other aspects of the game and just went,"eh what ever" on the story. It would be great to see each race's point of view on the conflict.

That would, in my opinion, make this very good game into a great game.
