Just a quick article to note that Pres. Bush 'won' on the spending bill that just passed through the (U.S.) House of Representatives with lots of backing from the GOP.  Without this win the Democrats (who control the House) would be sending Pres. Bush a spending bill with much larger increases in spending that Pres. Bush was willing to accept. Increases that would surely add billions to the national deficit that some people scream about so much.

Without the spending bill, the government could have faced a shutdown, and with the Democrats spending bill sent forward, there was the threat of an immediate veto.  Thanks go out to those Democrats that banded together with their friends on the GOP side of the House to get the current bill through.
