Any chance we can get an update as to what is going on with the 4X fantasy game team?

Brad - Any chance we can get an update as to what is going on with the 4X fantasy game team? The last info I know of about the progress is -

"Most of our game development team is working on a new fantasy strategy game with a 2009 release date; public beta next year. It’s a turn-based game with tactical combat which is also turn-based. One could describe it as part Master of Magic, part Populous and part X-Com. We’ve developed a pretty extraordinary graphics engine for it. I wish I could take credit for it but the stuff’s way beyond my meager capabilities; the engine team we’ve put together over the last couple of years is just amazing" - Brad

The thing I would most like to know is how your 'vision' for this game is different then MoM?

Peace Phoenix:

Dom3 (and Dom2) are available in Germany. I was able to buy them trough a shop that specialises in linux-friendly games. They had to import it, of course, but it was still within the 'normal' price range for PC games.

@non-MoM:

Hmmm... Populous. Now there is a game that I miss. I have every confidence that Stardock will be able to merge the best of Master of Magic and Populous, add the personal touch of the XCom series (over the course of the game, I always get quite attached to my soldiers), remove any pesky DRM, open the game engine to modders and come out with the game we've been waiting for for a long time.

I really need some news soon as well. I'm starting to lose faith it will come out within a years time, what a pitty for the fantasy lovers. Heroes 5 M&M is so crappy, I wan't Stardocks Fantasy ASAP!

At least let us know if our waiting is in wain.....

Yes MoM style combat is a great thing.
Why to invent something new when old is ideal ?

Me too like turnbased combat in an own combat-screen.

Definitely. That's one thing that MOO has over GC2...I always liked the tactical combat.

I'd agree, up to the late game when battles could be ludicrously huge. I'm hoping that the TBT component of NotMoM2 will resemble the MoO functionality but with the brains of a Stardock AI available for times when you really would rather just watch.
