Oh yes I know time is a factor, I like longer games though, in my opinion not killing off even the weak races leads to some interesting game dynamics.

I have to agree. I will put my next game in for the Empire. Havent played a good game in a while. Mostly evil games.

How long have you seen those Diplomats or Kzintis or Hegemony-ions in those top ranks? You can join them but you'll never get the same kind of respect earned as you will helping build your own empire instead of joining a ready made one. Be that much of a man...

For every galaxy you dominate is just another day for the one of the Galactic Civilizations but its the start of a new day for the Hitchhikers of the Galaxy...

Nice speech, I like the 'not just another member' angle . However, I'm not quite sure about the 'Be a man' bit. I'll wait for a few more opinions .

On another not, I have started another game for the Hitchhikers (my first game of GC2 for ages). It seems to be going well, I'm currently in the process of a military buildup so I can capture the Krynn homeworld and its lovely Precursor Library .

I agree with Macmatt, nice speech, maybe the "be a man" is a bit too overacted.

I also bear bad news, because of the recent period of inactivity(though I blame no one and acknowledge that this is just a game) we have lost 7th place in the Altmeta and are now down to 8th.

Now I bear better news, since the last recalculation we have again the 7th place in AltMeta, but with only 3k Points more than the Browncats. Tomorrow we could have lost 7th place again. In Metaverse we hold 11th place (it was 13th when I joined some months ago), but also with only a 3000 points advantage.

We need more members and I regard your idea making a recruitment speech. It should be edited into the announcement post. But we`ll also have to invite people.

Edit: Huh, I think we have a new member, MrBonkers (Astro Ranger).

The Hitchhikers are based mostly there and I've managed to revive a surge of activity. Our forums have seen more posts in the last few days then in the whole of october.
