Welcome!

Sins of a Solar Empire announced

Stardock Entertainment, the creators of Galactic Civilizations, and Ironclad Games which includes developers from Homeworld: Cataclysm, have teamed up to bring you an epic real-time, multiplayer, space strategy game that combines much of the epic scale of a traditional 4X strategy title with the real-time 3D experience found in releases such as Homeworld, Total Annihilation, and other such games.

Over the coming months, this site will expand to give you the full story behind this epic new franchise.  A public beta for Sins is expected this January that anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to participate in.  With your help, we hope to put together a space strategy game that players can enjoy for years to come.

On behalf of Stardock Entertainment, the publisher, and Ironclad Games, the developer, I would like to welcome you to the Sins of a Solar Empire website.

and where to pre order? or am i too fast to ask?
Pre ordering will probably be from their Stardock Central. It's not available yet.

No pre-ordering yet. We hope to have that set up in the next week or two.

But that was one of the reasons the release date was pushed to next August -- to give time for players to not just participate in a beta but also have time to listen to what you guys have to say and see what can be put into the game.

Hi everyone, and welcome to the party!

One of the best parts of GC2 were the random events. Another great example of this is Sword of the Stars. Would it be possible to add this kind of things in (meteor showers on worlds, abandon alien ships, plagues, etc)

And the fun begins

Excellent... let the sinning commence!

Count me in. Price yet? Or tokens? Ready to sin.

Yeah! Thanks Frogboy! Welcome to all! I really feel we have something special going on here and with everyone's help, it's only going to get better. If you know us from the past, you know we really do listen to what everyone has to say and it does have an impact on the game. This will be my home away from home so expect to see me around often

P.S If I know you from before and your nickname has changed, feel free to PM or email me so I know who you are

hey blair! I'm back!

just wish the old forum was maintained... so sad
anyway, just promise me that you wont let stardock hijack the game and I'll get over the emotional trauma

No need to worry about that. Stardock works on both sides of the developer/publisher fence. I'm sure they know what works and what doesn't.

Now, impressions of the game itself: shiny. I particularly like the character designs for the TEC. Yet another way to waste my time.

This is so cool. I found Sins when it had no publisher and I thought it had some promising elements. The fact that my most favorite game company in the entire world is now the publisher is perhaps the coolest thing ever.

Man, this simply rules. The developer of my current favorite game (Stardock) and Ironclad teaming up simply seems too good to be true. I've been looking forward to Sins coming out for a while already, and I think it's terrific that it's going to be published by the makers of GalCiv 2!

I know, I can't stop being excited about this and posting totally useless things to these forums stating as such! Hahahahaha! Insane with GLEEEEEE!

Congrats to both Stardock and Ironclad on the partnership here. Let's hope it's beneficent for all.

Oh boy... this world-wide conspiracy to make sure I get no work done continues...

Damn you people for making interesting games!

And great... you guys are Vancouver-based. I used to live there, and miss it horribly. Now every time I visit these forums I'll just be reminded I don't live there anymore.

On a serious note, the game definitely looks interesting. I'm not an RTS fan, but it sounds like this won't be a real RTS, but more like "continuous time." Looking forward to hearing more in the future!

salute!

does having an account enable you from pre ordering this game?

sry kinda new on this internet ordering stuff, i usually go and give papers for a quick exchange. but i would love to be one of the beta testers since the release date would definately break another one of my neck muscles just for looking too far ahead

I can only offer my appreciation, with the news of what will be roughly an eight month period for public beta-testing and the recently announced publisher. Here is to waiting, for the pre-orders to open, and the start of the Sins of a Solar Empire public beta.

Pre-orders aren't available yet, but should be in the near future for both credit card orders and through TotalGaming.net tokens.

Is there a limit for pre order's?
