I'm looking forward to seeing this too! And we're still working on the Star Wars mod .


Hopefully we'll get some ships out soon. I'm interested in getting the ST ships. Once we get the SW mod done, it might be interesting to make a balanced ST vs SW mod .

I'd just like to throw in my two cents.

From what I can tell, the story element is trying to start from the next generation era right? Like the Federation has been established and all the other empires start with a small section of planets under their control to begin with?

Wouldn't it be more prudent to allow people to start each empire from scratch. It would be alot more work, but for example Earth starts independent and it's just that planet. Your survey ship can be the nx01, you can research each ship level up past that working your way through the whole of star trek history.

You could also set up multiple independent races, like the vulcans, and just use a picture to represent them, and they could have maybe one or two ships. You could also maybe set the Borg as like the drengin and everyone teams up to destroy them. Imagine playing the Federation early in the game you encounter the vulcans, they have research abilities cranked way up, as the game continues you ally with them. They're your allies but still an independent state.

Maybe warp speed could be set up where you first research warp allowing you to travel and gradually each warp level allows you to traverse farther and faster. engines would be warp 1 to warp 10 and dilithium crystal chambers could be life support. warp five could be the standard speed allowing you to get around the galaxy and when you finally reach warp nine ships get around everywhere incredibly fast. to speed the game up in the end, you could research warp ten allowing you to go everywhere instantly!

yeah, some ships really should come sometime soon at the SW mod... in the convert thing I don't thing we are going anywhere, so I want to see the ST ships too.

BradenK I like the way you think, I mentioned that one before, battle of the series just for fun, think it would be cool and once both projects are done not too much work

about the only thing we would have to do is balance everything.

We'll have to look into it. Our biggest issue right now is converting the ships. Running into some problems

Alright!

Guys I just want to get everyone interested...More information to follow tomorrow....

After a long discussion between Han, Knight, and RenFL, we are going to release Star Trek Mod V01 THIS week.

This is a PRE RELEASE BETA TEST MOD....

It is NO WHERE NEAR complete.... It will have over 60 ships to use.... 6 different major races.... Music... New Screens.... and more!

Come back and post often for more information through out the week!

I just got it installed.
Your Anomolies.xml file gives an error in my xml reader, by the way. Something about missing or incorrect tags. It seemed to work fine in the game, though.

I played it for 15 minutes, then had to shut it down due to brain freeze. That constantly repeating Star Trek theme for background music drove me batty. A little variety sure would be nice. Something that flows, instead of barks, if you know what I mean.
The original Star Trek movie soundtrack had some very good music that could be used for the background music.

Nice job so far, though. I have only looked at the Romulan ships so far, and they look great. Can't wait to see the other styles.

Is there a way to change the race names of the ship styles in the setup screen? They still say Altarian, etc.

Space01.mpg would make a nice default for the background music.

All in good time my friends. I currently play with no music, or just wait until it switches from the Star Trek theme myself....There's actually a total of 25 Star Trek songs in the first release I believe, I'll check with Knight on that one

Are the Vulcans going to be included? They have some impressive ships, and their culture plays a big role in the ST universe.

Can say the ships from one race be used byt themselves in a regular GC2 game as just ship designs?

TC44 we can but that would mess with the core files, any additions are best done through the mod folder that way you won't run the risk of messing up any files.
