(maybe you try to go on the second side of the Member list. Im The Founder and Coordinator of this Mod and I stand on side 2 but that no problem, its because of alphabetical order)

I dont know if you are aware of it but we need many more than just modeler, we need someone who make events, improvements, ressources etc.
so let me know cause Its my Job to listen to you all(as I found this really good Team and Im vey proud of all in it)

Hey Everyone! Sorry for those I missed, I just wasn't sure who was on the team, I'll put you up tonight! I'll be around less the remainder of the week but back a lot more next week, I'm going to put out the Card Galor Ship tonight though, then I'll add a running list to this site of all the ships we have done so far. Seems Han and I are going to have a little competition going on who has the most ships out, but thats okay, so consider this your head start Han! J/J Its great I love that I he's putting some out also! I just hope he saves me a few Federations models to put out!

Hello guys,

I must be a total noob because I cant seem to get these files to work. For instance I downloaded the NXO1 zip and tried to install it.

I copied the png and .x file to the gfx/models directory. (Note I haven't modded the game other than b5 mod so I just put this stuff in the default set up. Maybe I need that mod you mentioned at the top) Anyways I copy the xml stuff into the GC2.ships.xml

This is where something is messed up I think because I just pasted this stuff at the bottom of the regular xml file. Something I noticed though and am wondering about is that the default file starts each description of a ship off with

All the zips ive gotten off your forum have

So anyways I try to click on nx01 ship and go to upgrade or build and the game crashes. I had to change the xml though to say Ship Name instead of Hull Name.

crap that didn't come out right should say

default says Ship Name /Ship Name

zips on your forum say Hull Name /Hull Name

Hey I may have figured out what is wrong with my setup. I think I was editing the ships.xml instead of types.xml.

I've been using the Brief Guide to Modding info to figure this out

As a side note about the dauntless you guys put on your STGC2 forums

There is an actual ship called the Dauntless it was in one episode of ST Voyager and had the ability to seperate into two different ships in tactical mode kinda like the saucer seperation of STNG Enterprise. Thats for anyone who might not know where that one came from.

I don't know if your that familiar with Voyager but there was also a Federation Time ship called Relativity that looked really cool.

Hi, good work

I testet most of these ships but the Akira and the Defiant doesn't work.
I copy the files and the XML Data on the right places but
the Akira doesn´t appear in the Game.

The other ships (Miranda, Galaxy a.s.o.) works fine.
I have 1.2 and the Collectors Edition installed.

What can i do?

I'm having the same problem and its frustrating as hell.

Miranda, Galaxy, and Constitution are the only ones I can get to work

I haven't tried the Borg ones yet or ferengi

As near as I can tell it seems like one guy zips up some in zips and another in rars the ones that say Hans91 I cant get to work for anything.

Is there something to do with needing to have a mod installed first and putting them in a mod directory? I've tried everything I can think of.

The Ambassador, Excelsior and the Sovereign works for me.

I don´t think zip or rar is the problem.
I have no other mod installed (and i use these files not as mod) and not changed any files as the gc2types.xml in the data\english and the data\german folder.

hey renfl, i see you updated your member list and I read your breaking news
as far as you have done good work I can say you that It will function also without his help ;o) Im making my Weapons in that way so that they havent got a big model, just a point you didnt see well, so that it allows you to see where youre weapons are but dont ruine the look of the ship too
When I m back I will upload the Highspeed Torpedoe turret (Highspeed firing fast flying torpedoes) which you know from the sovereign, its just a prototype from me and I call it first H.T.T. all other weapons will come in the beginning of august I will overwork my phasors and disruptors too and make weapon packs for each race ;o)

For the people having trouble with the new models. Here are a couple things to keep in mind.

1. Rar files aren't the issue. It's just another compression format.

2. When you install a new model always start a New game. Otherwise the model will not showup in a saved game.

3. Always edit the GC2types.xml file. No need to edit any other xml file.

4. Make sure you are running patch 1.2

5. Always make sure your video drivers are up to date.

6. All the models released work. I have personally tested them on four computers of different hardware.

Ah thanks for the tips.

I got them to work at last.

It's really a no brainer I just didn't understand that you have to start a new game each time you add a model.

I kept loading a Terran game where I had already researched the required techs and wondering why the models didn't show up.

Excellent work guys!! Seriously!!

Can I request a Voyager style ship (Im a fan of the Voyager spin off)

How about a DS9 runabout as well?

I have a new insight to add to this thread.

I am able to get all the models to work now. If you want to be able to build all the ships at STGC2 right away like the terran starships that you added...

All you need to do is go into the GC2types.xml and edit the text between the Tech_Requirement tags. You can put something simple that you start out with or are only a few steps away from researching like Basic Logistics.

XML is pretty easy to work with. It's similiar to HTML but you can make tags that mean anything. In this case the designers put certain self explanatory tags in this file to descibe ships. You can pretty much change anything from the initial speed of the ship, to cost, to hitpoints etc.

Yes they are. Why reinvent the wheel? You'll notice when you download them that it states they are converted from BOTF.
