Traffic today is over 4 times what it was two years ago.

The forums did better two years ago though. Our forums rihgt now kind of suck. We're working on it.

"The method is [has always been] to drag your cursor over the text you wish to copy...then whilst hilighted click on 'quote'.." ......

Nope...don't work either! Oh well, I'm sure it'll all get sorted soon......if not at WC's end, something quite simple will eventually dawn on me at this end. LOL

.no more server errors or other errors for the matter...it just doesn't load.

I havent been able to even read a forum thread all week to find out whats going on. It seems pointless to even try lately. I click - page turns white and i sit here waiting....waiting...waiting...nothing. I leave and delete cookies ...come back , click on thread " new site page " loads - try to reply to a post - click send - strange gray film appears over page ( don't even ask me to explain that ) page freezes - post does not post. Exit site - resign in - click on forum " OLD forum site " loads. And on an on an on an on. Right now I'm seeing the " old site forum look " but I havent hit the " send " yet....

Speaking of the good times, I just had a look at the messageboard 2 1/2 years ago on the wayback machine. There were 55 threads less than 24hrs old on the general section - today there are only 14. What does that say?

It says that a lot of people have stopped coming here - seems to be a lot of people " missing " and if the regulars stop coming can you imagine how quick a " new person " will stop bothering ? Ok..hitting " send " now.....

Maybe everyone is going to the newsgroup (news.stardock.com) , they always work and are wicked fast

Checks . . .

Nope . . . practically a ghost town.

Fuzzy, one reason is back then we had 1 forum not 1/2 dozen with sub forums in each.  I think ya need to add all those up to really get an accurate picture.  But I agree, there does seem to be a drop in new threads.  The speed does seem to be picking up but is still locking up now and again.

There were three forums   Even adding in the JU 'add ons' still doesn't come anywhere near the activity of two years ago.

Hmmm... a mystery hath exposed itself.
Curious... How do paid subscriptions fare compared to 2 years ago?
How about Product Sales in relation to Paid subscriptions comparison from 2 yrs ago and now?

Now I'm having a problem with the log in...one minute I'm logged in but my username isn't showing and then I go to another page and I'm logged out again. It gets better everyday...

Product sales are several times what they were 2 years ago.

Paid subscriptions are about double what they were 2 years ago.

Traffic to the site is 4 times what it was 2 years ago.

Simply put, the fact ther'es little activity in the forums speaks more about the forums than the popularity of the site.

The # of downloads skins get today is much higher too.  Look at the downloads per day on a popular skin from 2 years ago and one from now. Top skins now get thousands of downloads PER DAY now.  In the old days, only something like a really big name skin from a very popular author would get those kinds of downloads.

We're working on improving the speed of the logon. It's a work in progress. But notice now how quickly WinCustomize first comes up when compared to how it used to be.

No argument there Brad....things are popping up much quicker now...aside of the log in problem and a momentary freeze...non functioning quotes and whatever else I haven't noticed yet in the forums things are looking up. But as far as the logon...its not really speed thats an issue...its not being able to logon at all.

WOW, I thought, there's a whole load of new skins to play with in the newest section ....then, as I shook Mr Sandman from my eyes and scrolled further down the page, it dawned on me that these were skins from a couple of weeks ago ....I just don't handle disappointment very well at all....

Went to make a cuppa and made myself coffee instead...so now I'm really gonna have a sleepless night over it.

Seems there's still a few bugs in da machine, Brad....need to get pest control or the janitor in there to set a few traps/baits....darned pesky varmints.
