If the forums are slow or unreachable for Wincustomize.com you can always try the beta forums out. https://forums.wincustomize.com. When wincustomize.com is lagging or slow they tend to be speedy.

I noticed that if i'm on the front page and try to open forum im getting a long wait or page hangs..but if I open my skin list page then manuver from there - no problem.

I also noticed that a few forum posts are showing up as " new " but old. I though it was just a one time thing but I received an email notification ( today ) for a thread I had on watch list , but when I checked it- it was 5 days old with no new posts.

I know they are redoing things - but I thought i'd mention it in case.

Tonight I've experienced slow times all around. Even opening up the start page.
Noticed this error message too.

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached.

max pool size was reached.

WOW!

Honestly...its at the point now thats its an exercise in futility waiting for pages to load. Lately I waste more time trying to get around the site than anything else. I really miss the times when I could come here and everything worked as it should. I've been on the site for about 15 minutes and its just now that the I got the forums to open up...and I'm on DSL now. Everywhere else I go things open in a flash.

Whatever it is you guys a trying to do to "improve" the site...you need to stop doing that and go back to what worked...or hire a professional that can fix the problems. I used to really enjoy coming here...but I'm finding myself coming here less and less.

I second that Gizmos

or hire a professional that can fix the problems.

mmmhh.., i think that they have some pro helpers

Tycus, yes you are correct I assume, but...
Gizmos makes some valid points as well, Whats being done isn't working.

I haven't been getting the errors I used to get prior to the server upgrades but the site is horribly slow quite often and performs very poorly compared to most sites I visit.

I had a period of time when it was lightening fast, but just recently it has slowed down some, though not abysmally. For the most part, pages load within a few seconds, but at times they can take up to a couple of minutes, though that's not frequent and usually early morning (Oz time) when more people world-wide would be logging in.

Still, it's a big improvement to a couple of months back, when server errors/load errors were more the norm than not. Okay, so it's not 100% yet, but I'm sure the crew are doing their best to resolve the speed issues....and considering the daily traffic Stardock/WC gets, it's a mammoth task that's not likely to have a quick fix.

For me it doesn't really seem to matter what time of day I try to get on here. Once in awhile a page will load fast, but thats only once in awhile. For the most part...I get here...spend a few minutes waiting for a page to load...nothing...try another page...nothing...then its just pointless...but yes...no more server errors or other errors for the matter...it just doesn't load. And I'm sorry...but I don't buy the traffic reasons for the pages not loading. I have no doubt that other sites experience just as much traffic or even more in some cases without making visitors wait and wait for pages to load. This is the only site that this happens...so it has to be something wrong with the coding. And you would think that a site with such great products would have a site that is equally great.

The site has been pretty fast for me for the most part. That is, until recently. Over the past week or two, it's taking a while to load up pages. I can be patient, but after the big server move, I thought everything was supposed to be blazing.

It has been running pretty fast for me lately.

It has been up and done for me lately. The pages of skins tend to open fairly fast but when I click on an individual skin things really slow down. And if I try to look at the large version of the skin....... well, it gives me a chance to run to store for something to snack on. I've found that a page that is stalling is easier just to completely stop and then immediately try again. That often works. Since I am not paying for a subscription I feel a little guilty complaining about something that I get for free. But I agree with the others that something is wrong here. When I can't open a page at midnight Pacific Standard Time I wonder what the problem is. The rest of the Western Hemisphere is in bed, Europe is still getting up and it is hard to believe that Asia by itself is overloading the servers.

I should also say that T-Man does an outstanding job putting this site together...its just a shame people don't really get to see everything because of the slow or no loading pages.

Open front page, click on forums tab and wait and wait and wait....click on this subject and wait and wait and wait. Back to front page , click on Blinds section and wait and wait and wait. It is almost 11 am EST and this is just soooo bad.....

Of course now when I click on the forums tab I am greeted with the new forums.
A bit faster, but I REALLY don't appreciate the advertising links throughout the content of any given thread.

Yeah...I just noticed that...whats up with this now I wonder. Its really annoying when trying to read something having these things pop up all over the place. Now I have to watch where I place my cursor?

OK...I just got on the site a few minutes ago and everything seems to moving along quite good...for the moment...I just hope it stays this way. I'll be a very happy camper if it does!
