So much for hoping this thread stayed focused.... Anyway, Blair, I don't know if this helps you much, but we had another successful game this weekend using the SyncFix patch. This one lasted around 4 hours and was setup similarly to the last successful game (different map). Not a single problem whatsoever.

Blair, We were able to get an 8 player (3 human, 5 AI) FFA in over the weekend using the SyncFix build. I am extremely happy to say that the game not only didn't crash, but it ran the smoothest it ever has! Our one successful game does not constitute declaring the patch ready for general release, but this same game (players, settings, map) crashed repeatedly last week while using the de-synch debug build (no logs created). Here are some points of interest from our experience:

Frustrations are warranted and legitimate. I'm right there with everyone, but IC has finally given the problem (perceived and legitimate) some enhanced visibility by pinning a post regarding said issue so it doesn't get buried. Before you start flaming away, it might help to know that I have a closed case with StarDock requesting a refund for Sins (electronic version). I allowed the case to be closed without returning the software because of the simple fact this thread (and the test b

Just to add to the discussion, my friends and I played a 6 FFA (3 AI's) on Friday night/Saturday morning with the test build. I mini dumped about 2 hours into the game, but I fear it was not the de-synch issue as the test build did not do what Blair said it would (no red text, no synch files). We were able to resume the game from a save point and continued for about another 2 hours before it crashed again (again with no synch files). The game came to a screeching halt about 5 minutes

That's a ridiculous statement Annatar11. Even if it was meant tongue in cheek. Do bugs occur in software? Absolutely! But it is more than a little annoying having IC discuss balancing changes and, hell, there's even a thread about the expansion pack, with no information being relayed about bug fixes. For the record, I'm one of shaft's friends he is discussing (the one that replaced his NVidia cards (which did stop the BSOD, but not the mini dumps)). I know IC reads these po

Thank you Blair for the communication. I AM trying to keep the tone in this thread civil (which is also the reason why I opened a separate mini-dump thread, but it was locked). I did read the post you linked to and that thread is a perfect example of why I think a formal acknowledgment is warranted. The success of Sins will ultimately be derived from the success of the community and currently there is quite a bit of negative back and forth going on. For the community at l

I appreciate the responses thus far, but I have to respectfully disagree regarding the lack of communication. An auto-reply along the lines of "Thank you for your submission. Rest assured we are investigating your problem." requires little effort on the part of IC. As it stands now my email (which would be hard to miss given the 10 MB compressed attachment) may be out in the 'ether'. Point being there is no confirmation that my email even reached IC let alone is actually being investigated.

I have two questions and I'm really trying to give SD/IC the benefit of the doubt, but it's getting increasingly difficult. Question 1: Why is my other post locked? (mini-dump) Question 2: Why have I not received any correspondence from IC support concerning the mini-dumps I submitted? Once again, I am a long time Stardock customer (longer than my current account indicates, I lost the info from my previous account). I hate to call shenanigans, but

Hi All, I'm posting yet another mini-dump thread as the others seem to have gotten a little off topic. I have been able to play one (read as singluar) multiplayer game (ICO, LAN, Hamachi...) to completion without a mini-dump on either mine or other players PC's. I have been able to play successfully in single player games, but that kind of defeats the point of a game like Sins. I've waited patiently for patches to come out, but they have not fixed the problem. Heck
