If voluntarily giving to those less fortunate is the christian thing to do then anyoneone who calls themself a christian (I'm roman catholic) should be in favour of a system of wealth redistribution that is not communist in its approach to this - i.e. if you work hard and earn a lot of money, then you get to feel the benefit of that, which is fair. I am a person who lives in a country with universal healthcare. It works. Period. In the last 5 years, every member of my immediate family has had medical treatment including my grandmother who had to have a 3 hour long operation (her fourth so far) that would have bankrupted us all if we didn't have universal healthcare.
