I lean on the cheap side, so buying a 128mb boot drive when I have a 256 key at home makes no sense to me. I have heard that there are ways to roll your own usb boot from live cd distros. Anything on that?
Ahem. *Cue shameless plug for Stardock*: Object dock has a very nice docklet that lets you take a time delayed screenshot and have it show up on your desktop as a jpeg or png without the need for opening up a graphics editor! Fantastic! I accept cash and credit cards....
Does anyone have the skinny on a good operating system for PC that runs exclusively from ram or from a flash disk? This could be great for my laptop because battery time is precious, and craptastic when that harddrive gets-a-movin'.
He wasn't even very creative with the names.
Cutting others down will never make you bigger. That should be the silver, or maybe bronze rule.
Please don't ask. I just got my neck brace off from the last miniscule downtime.
I think that we all owe some credit to the guy for that masterful subtraction. 25-14=11. A+!
As for live cd's, I would recommend Knoppix. Heck, email me shotgun_989 at yahoo.com with your address and I'll mail you the cd incase you are on dailup. Other than that, whatever you can install usually works.
*Puzzled look, vigerous head scratching, the works*

Link Since when has age been an issue on this wonderful medium called the internet? Aside from the obvious and blaring legal ramifications of age, one should remeber that on the internet, intellect is the sole source of clout that earns one respect. I don't mean intellect merely in the sense of "smarts", but also skill, eloquence, and discretion, the
Well, ironically that worked like a charm. As long as I have someones attention, is there a way to periodically ping an ip to see if a server is up? Again, extreme noobage here.
Hi there. I am anything but new to DesktopX, but I have never scripted with it, and have little knowledge about VB Script. I wanted to build a theme that would display the sizes of various folders on my hard disk. I tried to do so, but got some flagrant error. Below is the code. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dim FSO Dim res Dim varFldr, varFldrSize Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemO
Pour out an o.z., put the flag at half staff, whatever. This is like hearing that Elvis died. I really looked forward to seeing Mozilla go places, but I guess that all good things must come to an end.
Lo and behold. Yonder Steve Grenier has appropriated the very collection for which I sought. (?) And in PNG format no less. Allow me to dig a hold and crawl into it.
Now, I'm not usually the needy type. But lately I have been searching for a complete set of original Mac OS X icons. By original I mean that they are authored by Apple, not some obscure (albeit talented) author. These particular items are proving difficult to procure. Am I to surmise that these forbidden fruits are beyond my grasp? If anyone has anything of worth to say (or anything of no worth <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" b

Jeez, first the kinky Google search and now this. I pity you, because the internets wrath seems to be insatiable.
Their heads would explode. Anyways, I have to say that I can agree with all of you in a way. The dogmatic will remain loyal to their platform (no pun intended) and the open minded will judge for themselves. Even if they decide that one is better than the other, it is because they made the decision based on their findings. I started out as one of the bull headed individuals being criticized. I was hard core Windows, if there is such a thing. A

Seems like that would complicate things. Skinners don't skin for money, maybe not even fame and glory. They skin to skin. Skinning is commercialized enough as it is. You get a little extra out of most programs when you buy. WinCustomize.com is like a public square where people come to share what the have and know. Involving money only cheapens a good thing. It would cause an influx of cheap "just for the money" skins. I don't want that kind of site. Th
