a great friend of ours has passed. Paul Blissett aka scubabliss passed this past week - he has been a great customizing friend to many of us here and elsewhere - whether you know or remember him he will be missed greatly by many of us in the community - he left a list of charities we can use to honor his memory. please visit his WC page or go to http://scubabliss.deviantart.com/ to leave a note and get the link to his facebbok page and via that his charities.

ya know I don't hate Vista. It has to go thru the same growing pains as any OS or program. I still use XP but that will probably change once all my stuff is supported on Vista. Just give it time - as long as we don't have an ME (millenium edition - lol) fiasco all is good. BTW I was one of those who fed on W95 - it was a great advance from the previous OS offerings -it had it's brainfarts too but it worked out brilliantly - isn't it the basis for the screens we all see nowadays? :NOTSUR

I purchased the Pantheon Suite and really love it except for one thing - the weather gadget doesn't work right. I can't change the location or view radar or extended forcast. Anyone else have this problem? I would appreciate any assistance or links to someone who can help.

another addition to my post. Some windowblinds don't do this - makes me believe its something to do with the code of the windowblinds skin. right now i'm using the "Knot Vista" skin by I.R.Brainiac and the only time it failed was when I had a crash. I'll see if I can repeat the failure to see what skins may do it. I'll be back. i can be contacted about this at [email protected] <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 align="absmiddle

reply#1 from Mike: No it does not. I have the same problem from time to time. I have to reset to normal skin (i just choose the top one) then it goes to the old fashion type WB needs. Then I can reapply my windowblinds. Has been a pain since the advent of WB5. it's hit or miss - never know what i'll see when the machine starts WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 5 (5.51 (build 97 x86)) WindowB

if you change the .zip file extension to .dockzip you should be able to doubleclick it. that approach works with other stardock file types too (especially when dealing with some DX files). the only noted exceptions i have found are some logonxp files and of course iconpackager files. Boss0190's approach is the failsafe of course. you can trust him he knows what he's doin.

it's kind of a subscription for 1 year. for me it has been cheaper to get all the programs i want by getting object desktop which includes most of Stardock's UI programs - not just the lesser free ones. it also includes the most recent Vista versions and skinstudio pro. not a bad deal for $50 a year (and much cheaper than gettin each program separately)

Ever since the last update to windowblinds and object desktop i now have 2 places to change the colors of the windowblinds skins. however, neither one of them will work. WTF - have you added Vista capabilities and killed off all our WindowsXP abilities. WindowsXp is still faster and I will continue to use it as long as it is. as a wincustomize subscriber and object desktop user i'm beginning to feel cheated. should i renew my subscription next time or should i go back to manipulating windows mys

First off - I hope when you uninstall windowblinds you reboot. You need to reboot again once it's reinstalled. Clean installation is key and the boot thing seems to be a major issue. I've been using object desktop for a long time and have been very pleased. I do find one issue tho and it's not from the programs - it's microsoft. Whenever I get the automatic updates things go screwy for a day or two. Always resolves itself but can be very annoying. Another issue - I don't see what versio

open the .uis of the skin you want to change. in the preview plane scroll down to classic colors. the top one is the active window pane. click on the center of it and you should get a color editing window on the lower window of skinstudio. you can select another color or just capture from somewhere on the screen if the color you want is there. save the skin and you should have it. i do that all the time. i hate dark skins with white windows. hope i hel

scorpio-logic: i tried your fix - all it really accomplished was killing off all my skins - still had same problem. luckily i made a backup of my skin collection before trying it. i found the OBDCJT32.dll driver mentioned in one of the other posts' but i'm unsure what to do with it. i also did some research and found that Microsoft Access (which i have on my machine) doesnt use that driver for its database anymore - it uses one called Mjet. that may be
